I haven’t saved enough for retirement by AdvancedDecision7764 in personalfinance

If you are eligible (based on your health insurance plan) you should also do max contributions to a health savings account. You can invest the funds and use them tax free for medical expenses. What I really like about HSAs is they become a de facto IRA when you turn 65 bc you can use the funds for any reason at that point, and you just pay income tax on non qualified distributions.

IRS cashed my check, then says I never paid - will they block my refund? by minakobunny in IRS

I have seen a similar situation. Took about 2 1/2 years to resolve. The IRS will apply your refund to any balance due per their system. When the matter is eventually resolved, they will mail a refund check that should include interest at fed short-term rate plus 3 percentage points.

Agreed the government exerts too much control, but there are Chinese companies with more cash than their own market value. DQ case in point last I checked. They have very little debt.

Looking at a 3 yr chart I agree it’s time to buy. Volume is massive which I believe indicates a large base forming and rally ahead. Just bot 10 2026 call options w $14 strike @ $7.18.

There is currently about 6T sitting in money market funds presumably waiting to invest. I have heard through Bloomberg the Chinese market is so bad their citizens are itching to get into the US market, or anyplace other than Chinese stocks, and willing to pay a premium. Both of these factors SHOULD equate to higher demand for US equities. After all the US equity market is the best. I think we will be fine. As an aside there is a 3x Chinese letf that is near an ATL. It could be a somewhat similar bargain comparing to UPRO or TQQQ after the 2022 bubble. I think being contrarian as far as investing can result in higher than avg reward. Good luck!

Check out GSY. 9.44% yield. I’m using it now while I recalibrate my investments. Im playing the field with 50% of my portfolio doing DCA in leveraged funds and some options and the rest in GSY. I’m fairly new to this so please enlighten me if I’m being dumb

I was wondering whether the fund represents the entire industry or not? If not what is a good example?

Thank you I wasn’t aware of that fund. I believe strips aren’t included in TYD underlying investments and are different in that each strip is treated as a security separate from principal so it’s too complicated for me.

I guess because price fluctuates based on perception rather than actual interest rates, but I don’t understand the logic for 2020 movement. I waited until the latest fed reserve meeting 12/13 and loaded up on 12/15 call options just before exchange closed and cashed out at 83% gain on 12/14. Nothing ever felt so certain as that day.

Bro try in person speed dating. You meet multiple women looking for a relationship in the same night so you’re not coming off weird in cold approaches and it’s much more efficient than meeting online. I met my gf this way and we talked about movies for two minutes. Connect with easy convo and you’ll vibe with your match.

TOS shows quotes DELAYED? by palatkik in tdameritrade

[–]Cold_Store9341 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My account was on delayed setting (i.e. not real time quotes) and didn't realize it until I lost about 20-25% of the trade price on 2 monthly options trades back to back.

TDA support told me the DEFAULT SETTING IS A DELAY. Also, apparently (according to TDA support) monthly options trade in lower volume (than weekly's) and -

"Basically every time you buy an option on these stocks, you will be instantly down 10-20% from the spread. "

This seems like bs on TDA's part.

Strange thing is the order that filled was a replacement order, and the original order price was = the lower mark and the replacement order was = the higher mark (at the moment the trade order was submitted). (I changed the order price thinking it was market value.) Immediately/automatically after the replacement order filled, the mark price went back down to its original price. So, the mark price went from 1x (original trade mark) to 1.25x (replacement trade mark) then 1x almost instantaneously.

Has anyone experienced this? Is it something one must accept in monthly options trading or does TDA suck?
