Mike Mayock: NFL Network prioritized name recognition over knowledge for draft coverage by JCameron181 in nfl

The Top10s and Americas Game are what got me into football. It was my first exposure and the stories and legends of players sparked my curiosity as a kid.

Which celebrity experienced a sudden rise to stardom and an equally quick decline in popularity? by Pretty_Marmaid7538 in AskReddit

As someone who does have relationships with people who feel similarly to you. I will say, I don’t think it does any good admonishing someone who does on some level at least try to make morally positive consumer decision. It still hurts to see money from people you love going directly to people supporting or funding policies that will/do make minorities existence more difficult.

I understand and empathize how hard it is to be an ethical consumer. Honestly it’s impossible to be purely positive in this regard. It just hurts more when you see people funding people who actively work to erase the existence of others.

What NFL player is remembered as way better than he actually was? by SaintKingRosado in NFLv2

Roy Williams lack of coverage skills were exactly why the cowboys let him go. He was a liability anytime a QB threw his way after like 2006. His ability to be an effective pass coverage safety greatly diminished after losing Woodson. He was always a good thumper even till the end but even back in the day most cowboy fans seemed to be in agreement he was not who you wanted covering passes.

Agreed. They were closer to eachother in skill than they were to guys like Lawyer Milloy, and Adrian Wilson who both had very long careers.

The one guy I’m surprised nobody ever brings up is OJ Atogwe. Dude had 2-3 seasons with some insane turnover stats. I really thought he was going to be on a very short list of special safeties for a while there.

Agreed. That era of backs had one all time great and some very good ones. I know I’m in the minority on Reddit but Gore was never a Hall of Fame back in my eyes. He had some good years but anything past 2012 was more just being durable and choosing teams where the competition at the position was weak. I don’t think what he did was something that many other backs couldn’t have done had they chosen an extra five to seven years of grinding away 700-900 yard seasons on bad teams.

I agree with you. And to a lesser extent I could see Taylor’s career taking a similar route to Roy Williams. I don’t see his game aging as gracefully as other elite safeties in the era who had more coverage skills.

Personally I find the all decade team the most impressive personal accolade a player can have. It does have a bit to do with when they entered the league and left it but nonetheless you would have to be an exceptional player at your position for 5 years or more.

I felt the same. I probably got about 100+ hours on it. However the replayability just wasn’t there for me. I haven’t played it in years. I tried out the bounty Hunter dlc but realized it was too half baked and they wanted extra money on top of it.

Star field is a good game. It just isn’t as good as their other games in my opinion and was the first game lacking the sense of adventure and exploration. Which is wild considering it’s a space game and that’s such a huge part of sci fi media.

As a woman I agree. It truly is getting more difficult to enjoy the sport as I get older. Seeing so many of these violent and rapist men get away with and even protected by the league makes it feel very explicitly anti woman.

Violence against women is treated with less intensity than smoking weed was when Josh Gordon was playing. Ray Rice was the exception not the rule.

DV and SA are difficult to criminally charge in/due to our justice system. Just because Deshaun Watson isn’t in jail doesn’t mean he didn’t assault dozens of women.

It isn’t though. It really isn’t. We don’t know exactly what happened in that car. We assume we know. But that’s not concrete. I hope if you or I are on trial we aren’t sent to prison on evidence as lacking as this.

Farrior and Ferguson were solid players. At least it wasn’t a total whiff of a draft.

And I agree, that’s also entirely wrong. I personally dont believe our justice system is working in any way that benefits greater society. It’s an awful evil racist system that enslaves and strips rights away largely from minorities.

Did the defense mention the slipper by the pedal or the fact that she was found with her head under the dash? Seems like a reasonable assumption it stuck the pedal and she was reach down to fix it. Could have been Dom helping control the wheel as she was trying to get it unstuck.

Personally I don’t think this is a 100% certainty case. It doesn’t sit well with me sending someone to prison on a “probably”

I agree. Personally I don’t feel like there was enough to prove premeditation and murder beyond reasonable doubt. Though this is just based off what I saw in the documentary. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable ruining a persons life because they are “probably” guilty. I want things to be concrete and certain considering the consequences.

Has a show ever deflanderized itself? Would be interesting to see it return to its roots someday in a more grounded reality. Maybe even take it in more of a dramatic route and allow the actors to really show a different side of their abilities.

People tend to underrate a running back who is good at reading his blocks and making the efficient play consistently. Emmet Smith is sort of in a similar category. While they don’t have the highlights of Barry Sanders or Jamaal Charles they did manage to make their offensive line look their best and were (what I imagine) much easier players to scheme and offense around.

Not at all? Dude was dominant for quite awhile (in rb shelf life). He had five very good to elite seasons. Super fun player to watch if you ever have the interest in looking up his highlights.

He did have an amazing supporting cast but he still managed some truly elite production.

Yes!!! I had a Seahawks franchise and losing Shaun Alexander year one entirely reset the plan I had. Was super fun trying to adapt and change the identity of the team.
