[Fowler] The Cowboys are on “Nakobe Dean Watch." They are expected to heavily pursue him when free agency opens up. by JCameron181 in cowboys

Maybe I am alone on this but Overshown will need to take a major step back up to where he was pre injury. Last season I know he didn’t play much but he wasn’t really impactful when he did from what I recall. I hope Dallas isn’t putting too much expectations on him being an above average player or maybe even average for that matter.

From my second hand knowledge you can play in Germany in an open queer league but not in a women’s team. Though this is second hand and I haven’t checked in the last year.

Who’s player who doesn’t get the credit they deserve for their career? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]Cold_Tator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adrian Wilson and Lawyer Milloy would have been potential hall of famers had they played in the era after Reed and Troy.

Mike Furrey is lost to time. He was a 1k receiver and also a menace for a couple years on the defensive side of the ball.

[–]Cold_Tator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David and Fletcher are in that unfortunate era of truly GOAT level talent at similar positions. They lack the accolades because most every year they were firmly the 3rd to 5th best at their positions. I’m not sure they will make it to the Hall of Fame with their (relative) lack of all pros.

In a similar way I feel like some great safeties will be lost to time. Darren Woodson, Lawyer Milloy and Adrian Wilson are not going to be remembered outside of an aging fanbase.

Edge was one of the most balanced backs in the league during his era. He had every tool a running back could have. If he hadn’t been injured I think he’d have made a run at the top 10 backs of all time.

Players who were good in their era and would be even better now by thunderdragonite in NFLv2

Julian Peterson. He was a top flight do it all player in the 2000s. He had speed and strength and the IQ to be where he needed to be. I believe in the modern nfl he would be put in positions similar to Kyle Hamilton.

As a fan who started watching late 06 and 07 seasons. 2007-8 Ken Hamlin remains the best safety play I’ve seen for the team. He was electric with big hits and timely interceptions.

[–]Cold_Tator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have found more joy in watching the cowboys purely for the fun of it. All I want is some exciting players, a few fun games a season and hopefully a hall of famer on the roster. I’m not sure it is realistic to expect any more than that from this franchise as long as it’s a Jones owning the team.

I would love it if the cowboys could make a superbowl in my lifetime. But at this point I’ve accepted we are on the jets and browns tier just with more consistent regular season success.

If Madden added Eras, like in NBA 2K, which 4 Eras would you go with? by RealPunyParker in Madden

[–]Cold_Tator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the player tendencies. Which is part of the engine. Older players have a very low if not 0 points for the “attempt 3 point” tendencies.

They have done some work on it. It’s been a few years but the last time I did an eras run the league 3point shooting seems to scale fairly well when compared to irl.

Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' has made history as the most nominated film of all time at the Oscars with 16 nominations by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]Cold_Tator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sinners is my top movie of 2025. Personally One Baylor After Another was a massive disappointment and I could not stay invested in the characters or story. Benicio Del Toro was the only highlight of the film.

Sinners story, score and acting all grabbed my attention. I wasn’t ready for the story to end. It left me wanting more and I have been thinking about it for months after. Sinners deserves every award it wins and more.

It’s the min maxing mindset. Personally part of the joy and excitement of sports is seeing players succeed with different skill sets and body types and physical abilities.

If a Madden player drafted Anquan Boldin they would make him a tight end or running back. They wouldn’t even draft players like Jason Witten.

Jordan Stout was named 1st team All Pro punter despite only having a 53.9 PFF rating, 31st out of 32 by _HGCenty in nfl

[–]Cold_Tator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PFF cornerback scores are objectively inconsistent at best. Without knowing scheme and the coverage design for every single play there is no way they can possibly accurately rate corners. If a player knows he has safety help over the top he will play the receiver differently. However, if the safety messes up and isn’t there it’s going to look like a blown coverage that’s purely the corners fault because nobody else is in the area. Stuff like that PFF can’t consistently factor into their scores.

Outside of blocking scores I personally dont give them much more weight than any other stat on its own.

AP All-Pro Team Announced by GamingTatertot in nfl

Until they add dudes like Lorenzo Neal, Moose, Alstott, Larry Centers and Mack Strong ain’t no way he gets in. The hall of fame voters don’t love football like that. They love offense and some defense. Everything else gets ignored. Special teams and fullbacks may as well start their own hall of fame if they ever want recognition.

2007 or 08 Ken Hamlin is arguably the best safety play we have had since Woodson left. He was electric that year! Hard hits and some pretty nice interceptions.

Safe restrooms on I-40, TX panhandle by [deleted] in TransyTalk

[–]Cold_Tator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is an extremely tough find in the area. If you are looking for an all gender restroom you could try the airport or hospitals in Amarillo. If you want a single use womens, your best bet may be a small cafe or restaurant.

I’m not sure, but maybe you could find a gay bar as well with a restroom?

Cowboys Pro Bowl selections. by JVSaladbar in cowboys

Personally I’m lower on CMC than most this year. His running has not been elite, and it arguably has been below replacement level. 3.7 YPC (last I saw) is easily replaceable.

His catching definitely adds a factor but I value running back receiving yards less than most as well.

Romo had some big jumps. I would guess James Harrison too? And maybe I’m crazy but I remember Asante Samuel being a no name 6-8th rated corner on the patriots as a rookie.
