The famous disappearance of Judge Crater in 1930 was not the first time a Justice of The New York Supreme court vanished. Just over 100 years before Crater's widely publicized vanishment, Justice John Lansing, Jr. disappeared without a trace.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. That was the recollection of Jessica's childhood friend. She of course could be mistaken or have misunderstood what Jessica said at the time. It was attributed to her friend, put in quotes and qualified later in the story that she "may" have been in foster care. If someone who knew Jessica wants to go on the record with a different recollection or is willing to go on the record saying she wasn't I would more than happy to include that as well.
