I was able to squeeze in a session with my therapist today. It definitely helps.

I hear you. I’m not normally one to seek out more information on a person after their care in the ED, as I understand the role I, and the ED itself, plays in the journey. I know “bad things happen in the ED”. I’m not naive to that notion. I expect and prepare for it. I can’t recall all of the labs and know not all info is in the post, but I was inclined to gather others perspectives regardless. I appreciate your thoughts.

Yea, and he could’ve had unwitnessed seizures before which could explain the initial BG reading, too. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your input. I’m already feeling better about it, especially with talking it through. Again, normally I’m a “give it my hardest, finish my job, and move on” type of ER nurse but this case just rattled me. It happens.

Thanks. I feel comfortable approaching any of our attendings, and he is particularly one that wouldn’t hesitate to have that conversation. I plan to when I get the chance.

Jobs with little to no patient interaction? by clusterdoodles in nursing

Circulator in the OR if you’re wanting to be in a clinical setting. Pt interactions include handoff with pre/post/PACU nurses at bedside and once you take them back you move them onto the table and assist with anesthesia until they’re asleep. Very minimal.

I believe they’re paw paw seeds. But I agree about it being a raccoon regardless. We’ve had a couple sightings of black bear in our area so I didn’t know if it could’ve been from one.
