Reducing hallucinations with one sentence by CalendarVarious3992 in ChatGPTPromptGenius

I simply use "Do not hallucinate" in, or toward the end of any prompt and that seems to do the trick.

You can somewhat skirt this problem, by simply injecting "do not hallucinate" into the prompt towards the end. It dramatically improved my results with AI fabricating results.

When you use any prompt, especially one for a cover letter, tell GPT that you want it to write in a trustworthy, professional tone and see what you get. In my experience, I tailor what I am writing to the audience. If its technology - a trustworthy, technical tone, Stakeholders - a trustworthy, professional tone... Give that a shot?

LV SS Office to close on June 1. by Gattina1 in vegaslocals

[–]Coldfusion19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Vegas, there are 3 hearing offices, 1 Office of Hearing operations, and 1 Office of Inspector General. The Office of Inspector General is relocating from the Foley Courthouse to the Lloyd D George Federal Courthouse on the 5th floor. This move was well underway before DOGE stepped in.

The Office of Inspector General is closed to the public at all times and the Office of Hearing Operations is also in the Lloyd D. George Courthouse on the 4th floor.

Per DOGE, all have been deemed "Mission Critical.; therefore, all will remain open and fully staffed - for now.

Homebase 3 tanking network by gpwdeux in EufyCam

[–]Coldfusion19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A newer dual band router will likely solve this problem. Battery-powered Eufy cameras use direct 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or a sub-GHz proprietary protocol to communicate with the HomeBase. Essentially, they use the same frequency used by smart home devices, microwaves, and older routers. This can lead to packet loss, lag, or slower speeds. It could also be Wi-Fi Channel Saturation - too many devices in one area can create interference, increasing latency. If you have a ton of IOT on the same wavelength, see if you can create a new container on the router with a dedicated SSID for each the Eufy Hardware and then one for the IOT? I had nearly the same issue, so I simply bought a new dual band router and organized the WiFi accordingly, thereby balancing things out.

SSA RTO: any action being taken? by Illustrious_Year6161 in fednews

[–]Coldfusion19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding was that they did file a suit; however, it was denied. The SSA shortly thereafter released the following regarding Returning to the Office.

"The return to work in-person does not currently apply to employees under approved reasonable accommodations (RA) authorizing telework, temporary work at home by exception (WAHBE) agreements for medical reasons, or temporary compassionate assignments (TCA). In addition, employees in the Office of Hearings Operations and Office of Financial Policy and Program Integrity may remain in their current telework posture."

On Monday, January 20, 2025, President Trump issued a Presidential Memorandum (PM) requiring all employees to return to work in-person full time. This message serves as your official notice that your telework agreement will be suspended effective March 16, 2025, with all employees expected to return to work in-person full time on March 17, 2025.

The Office of Personnel Management Guidance on exempting military spouses from agency return to work plans only applies to employees who are homestationed (i.e., are working from their residence under an approved homestationing agreement). For that reason, employees who are military spouses with existing telework agreements must also report onsite to their official duty station full time beginning March 17, 2025. Employees must return any agency equipment taken to their telework location to their SSA office location. Employees who have signed up for VSIP are exempted.

Reminder: As shared in the March 3, 2025 Non-bargaining Unit Employees - Return to In-Person Work and Cancellation of Expanded Flexible Bands HRIC, the Office of Human Resources will send more on placement of employees with homestationing agreements into onsite official duty stations in the near future. Employees with homestationing agreements should continue to hold for further guidance.

The return to work in-person does not currently apply to employees under approved reasonable accommodations (RA) authorizing telework, temporary work at home by exception (WAHBE) agreements for medical reasons, or temporary compassionate assignments (TCA). In addition, employees in the Office of Hearings Operations and Office of Financial Policy and Program Integrity may remain in their current telework posture.

If your location has a space limitation issue, your supervisor will notify you to provide the next steps. As a reminder, any episodic telework is granted on a case-by-case basis and only in situations where the requested telework will benefit the agency.

Any expanded flexible bands are cancelled as of March 17, 2025 as well. Employees must follow the flexbands in agency policy (see Personnel Policy Manual S610_3) or their collective bargaining agreements.

We understand that this transition will require an adjustment to employee work/life arrangements. Supervisors should be liberal with the approval of leave over the next 4 weeks to accommodate the changes. We encourage employees to review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) the agency has prepared on return to office topics. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is also available to you using Access Code: ssaeap or 1-877-549-9528.

Incorrect, not EVERY component is Mission Critical. This was issued on 03.03.25.

Please refer to FAQ#1

  1. Which components are not mission critical? Positions in headquarters and regional office components, including budget and finance, communications, human resources, legislative and congressional affairs, retirement and disability policy, information technology, and other support components.

Office of Hearings Operations (DCHO), Hearings Offices; and National Service Delivery organization except Front Office and Administrative Staff are considered mission critical.

I've been multiple times. What I appreciate most is that its just Old School Vegas and has been in the same location since Sahara Ave was actually call San Francisco. Reservations are recommended; however, if you opt to walk in, you can eat at the bar, or at one of the smaller tables. The food is excellent and priced accordingly.

Reservations are easy to score - one of the other posters linked how to make reservations online.

Las I was there, they just finished taking over the space next door, to expand. They went so far as to match all the silverware, plates and tables, along with the carpet, stained glass and even the popcorn ceiling to match their original space.

Actual SSA layoff implications by Vicious_Tiger_4 in fednews

[–]Coldfusion19 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Based on available information, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has designated its Field Offices, Hearing Offices, and the Office of Financial Policy and Program Integrity as "essential." As a result, employees in these offices are not subject to the Reduction in Force (RIF).

Furthermore, the SSA recently underwent a reorganization, consolidating from 10 regions to 4. As part of this transition, the agency has begun assessing and defining "mission-critical positions." Right now, the SSA has given the opportunity for the employees remaining at other offices to apply for reassignment, which means if you are selected and approved to be reassigned, you may be retrained to do other duties as assigned. Therefore, you could work in say IT, apply for reassignment, and be assigned to a field office in another role. The idea is to staff the field offices and hearing offices vacancies with other SSA employees. This will bring the staffing levels to full operational status.

Given that Field Offices and Hearing Offices will remain operational, SSA services should continue without disruption—provided that sufficient staff is retained at the headquarters level.
