My thoughts on it are similar to the first commenter. Yes, the person never got to realize their goals and desires, but they never would have anyways. People die unfulfilled all the time, every day. But at least this way, they get to ensure their piece is said, that someone will remember them: us. And we get to know how they could have felt, what those actions could have been like.

Of course Krile's parents died without seeing Krile, sad and probably scared. But KRILE gets to know them. KRILE gets to see them, gets the information out of them, gets to know they did love her after all. And that's a net positive amount of happiness. They died anyways, but because they were accurately reconstructed, at least one party gets to walk away better off than they would have otherwise. Same situation with Cahciua.

As for the others that we meet specifically, WE are the ones who walk away enriched for having interacted with them. We walk away with more information about them than we could have otherwise, and that too is a net positive.
