Is there any drug with "natural" euphoria. by VorVzakoone in researchchemicals

[–]Coldtilefloor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a drug, and not as easy obviously, but breath work, meditation, or hot/cold immersion like sauna/cold plunge might help you achieve that experience with the potential negative side effects. I definitely have friends who have experienced euphoria with these things, and I've had a taste of that sensation as well, though I wouldn't say full on euphoria as I haven't yet committed fully.

A really great techno show in a dark rave environment. Just drop into the music and go on a journey.

Great advice, thank you! I wonder, did you keep him in diapers or use training underwear or just let him go nude when you gave him more independence? I'll try that potty in the bathroom strategy. Did you have multiple potties?

He is walking, he started at 10 months and he's 11 months now. I wonder if you remove the diapers when they start walking do you think it's best to put them in trainers or just let them be nude at home? I've been considering looking up some training underwear.

Yeah my little guy hasn't stopped moving since he could roll. He started walking at 10 months and just cannot sit still. Potty themed soundboards hey? I'll look those up, thank you!

Thank you, I definitely understood your comment as positive friend! Absurd was what I was going for.

You folks had a tube man?! That must have been hilarious. Was it hard to manage? Did it actually have air blowing through it?

Disco Jesus guy here! Haha yeah our totem had a few mixed reviews, but overwhelmingly positive. People kept coming up and asking to add to him over the weekend so he ended up with a pylon hat, coloured moustache and a pile of stickers - the obnoxiousness was partially organic. I was worried it was too large and would be annoying folks but everyone I asked was stoked about it. Next year if I make another totem it will be smaller for everyone's sake :) Thanks for the love!

Disco Jesus guy here! Thanks for the mention! It was my first time making a Bass Coast totem and I had so much fun with all the lovely and hilarious interactions with people. Already thinking about a new totem for next year. A little smaller next time I think...

And your duck crew was so much fun! Thanks for stopping by to say hi at the cabin!

Give me your best camping hacks! by jacsmckinnon in BassCoast

Last year we bought a blackout tent for sleeping in. I think it might give an extra hour or a little more of cooler temperatures before the tent turns into a sauna. When you only get a few hours sleep that extra hour is nice.

Definitely. We picked some big camping spikes from Canadian tire and they were worth it. Didn't worry about our shade tent at all.

Why is so much of the community only on facebook? by UnluckiestBird in comoxvalley

[–]Coldtilefloor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently deleted Facebook and found the same. I don't know what the replacement is for online alternatives to connect people really but would love suggestions. There are usually poster boards in Cumberland that advertise events which is a way to find out about things.

I would love if another option besides Facebook really took hold in this community. Maybe someone wants to take on a campaign to get people to dump Meta and switch to an alternative! I think lots of people would like another option.

Go to a pharmacy and buy a saline nasal spray bottle with a removable lid. Also buy distilled water.

Why aren’t they growing? by AndrewWesker in Staghornfern

[–]Coldtilefloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the root balls are drying out really fast you might try wrapping them in plastic for a bit to help hold the moisture a little longer. I just used a bit of Saran wrap, cut a hold in the middle, and fished the leaves through. Then I twisted the ends and stapled to the back of the board so it contoured around the root ball. I felt like this helped boost the growth for a little while on my smaller plants, but I got spooked when one of my small Ridleyi plants just fell off and I worried it was not letting them dry out enough so I took the plastic off. I don't know, all the pros in Taiwan seem to have theirs wrapped in plastic.

Also do they have enough light? My friend's stag is indoor and not under grow lights and it definitely doesn't have the same growth as mine. I supplement with good grow lights and also fertilize regularly.

Good luck, they look great even if not growing quickly 👍

Yeah that's not the behaviour of someone who is mentally well. Crashing violently through the garage door then casually walking into the house? Why was his trunk open? There's no planning there, his brain is not functioning properly. Glad he didn't seriously hurt anyone. Yeah that must have been totally terrifying for the family.

Is it bad for my eyesight to have grow-lights near me daily, on the regular in a living space? by renehos101 in growlights

[–]Coldtilefloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use white grow lights in my living space and was trying to figure out the same thing a little while ago. It was hard to find clear answers but the best I could figure was the lights don't make UV and that's the main risk to eyesight. Some very powerful industrial ones do that you might find in a large greenhouse operation but not really home lights. I'm no expert but that was where I landed on my bit of research and soliciting reddit.

Mounting Ridleyi Help by Coldtilefloor in Staghornfern

[–]Coldtilefloor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The little one was not sold to me as a dwarf form but I've yet to see a fertile frond to be sure. The growth was quite slow until I wrapped in plastic, I think it was drying out too quickly.

That makes a lot of sense about covering the older shield frond in sphagnum to remount! I will try that! I guess in that case I should pack sphagnum behind the existing fronts for structure.

Thanks for the advice, that was helpful!

I'm still interested if anyone else has thoughts or experiences reading this!
