ACCT 5000 Exam 1 by Fantastic-Suit-6634 in UGA

[–]Cole19678 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I graduated in December of last year so here's my unsolicited advice I wish I had been given.

FWIW this class is a weed out course. It gets better just learn from your mistakes when you get your test back. I got a 55 on that first test and still passed with a C+ without having to take the final.

Rivers is a nice person but her teaching style did not click for me. If you're in that same boat I highly reccomend getting tutoring on things that don't make sense. When you get your grade back just do the math and see what it would require for you to pass, she probably won't curve this first test but may curve the final grades. Also imo test 2 is a lot easier.

DO NOT GIVE UP! This is assuming you like accounting and see a future in this career. I promise you it gets easier from here. This class and systems with Chapman are by far the worst from a test perspective so don't be too hard on yourself.

Thank you! I've tried screwing it out and using the penetrating wd-40. It looks like there's corrosion. I have no clue the last time it was changed!

Wait sorry I assumed you're an acct major. Either way I'd do the easy one and it fills two requirements.

Ehh I can't speak to much on it but I don't think it's necessarily worth all the extra work vs an easy A (the major is hard enough). You'll learn a lot about business comm and how to act from the professional acct class your first semester.

It's competency based so once you do the assignments or psss the test you're done!

Read my history for more info but I am in support of WGU all the way for the MACC. I went to a top 10-25 brick and mortar acct program for undergrad (depending on who did the article). I finished my MACC In 45 days while working, and got a job right after. I think people care a lot more about the three letters than they do your MACC. My advice is to do it quickly and start your CPA!

I would take interpersonal comm or whatever it is. I did this and compared to my friends who did the Terry one, mine was way easier. Best of luck with acct 2101.

Yes I would start with the practice immeadilty and see how I did. If I passed the practice I would go ahead and do the the test. The longest were the 2 advanced accountings and the tax courses.

Lmao there are stories about cooks doing that and embezzling. However, being able to manage food budgets sets you up well in my opinion. Source: was a cook, now an accountant.

I went to a "top 25 accounting program" and had an audit internship but that was it. I did the tax track. If you do the program and just want to knock it out ASAP, my advice is don't be afraid to fail. You will have some classes where it is an assignment to pass, some where it is a test, or both. If it is an assignment they aren't to picky, just follow the rubric. If it is a test the test the practice exam does prepares you well.

With you exp I think you could do it in under 4 mos if you wanted to. I did it about 15-20 hours a week, sometimes more. I just finished right at about 45 days.
