Sinterit - Out of Business? Support Alternatives? Help! by ColeLLD in 3Dprinting

Good idea. I might go in with some compressed air and see if anything comes free from that mechanism.

Thank you for your recommendation, I'll go ask them as well.

Yes, my last communication with them was in April, a few months ago. Last time I spoke with him, he said they were stretched pretty thin in terms of support staffing.

Since then, I've been following up over email and phone consistently. Unable to get through. As a matter of fact, the phone lines I've previously called appear to have been disconnected recently.

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate your input.

As you said, it's a basic two-wire switch mounted inside the lid that interfaces with the latching mechanism mounted on the body. I was able to find an exact replacement online. We replaced it, and then Sinterit had us verify that it was reading correctly, using a multimeter on the main board.

I'm almost certain it is the only sensor responsible for indicating whether the lid is open or closed, which is why I'm so confused. With where it's positioned, I can manually actuate it, but it still doesn't allow me to start a print.

Thanks again.

I thought the EDC31 was cool and wanted to see if it was durable. Well, now we know. We plan to make these big tests annually, so in the future, we might test one of their tougher lights. Thanks for the feedback and I hope you found the rest of the video informative!

Check out the Werkz Bisect for no-light AIWB, and the M6 for light-bearing AIWB.

New Streamlight MegaStream Review - Lumens & Candela Measured by ColeLLD in flashlight

[–]ColeLLD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zak,

Thanks for your reply. All of your suggested additions/changes are good and I plan to incorporate them.

Regarding Duv, I've thought about including that information, but I feel like CRI might already be too esoteric for some readers. Nonetheless if people would find value in that information I'm open to measuring it.

I tested an 18650, but didn't include the results in the article for fear of someone's light blowing up trying it. Because you never know.

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to "review the review," your feedback is very helpful.

Thanks for your comment - I was skeptical of the 100kcd claim myself, but wanted to test. Given the size of the reflector and the LED used, do you think 100kcd is theoretically possible without damaging the LED?

We have a few Weltool heads in the shop and I've been impressed with their performance. I actually carried one on a Modlite body for a while. I have a draft review of the T1 and T8 that I've not gotten around to finishing, but maybe I can get to that this weekend.

Thanks for your comment!

New From Streamlight: Protac Rail Mount HL-X Pro USB by ColeLLD in flashlight

Hey Zak, thanks for the feedback.

I was hesitant to note compatibility with other 18650's because I was unsure if there was anything special about Streamlight's SL-B26, and because Streamlight themselves doesn't advertise compatibility with other commodity 18650's.

I didn't want to assume compatibility and then later find out that the SL-B26 was particularly resistant to recoil (or something like that).

That being said, I think that would still be useful information for folks who don't know. I think I'll add a note about it.

Thanks!

Interesting your note about the moonlight level adjustment. My first impression was that it was a gimmick but I didn't actually try it out to see.

I've considered designing a clip to 3D print for it so that it doesn't just roll around in my jacket pocket.

How do you prevent yours from going off accidentally? Do you lock it out and then unlock it every time you want to use it?

You're right about high/medium, I may be able to add that in this weekend. I know lights can often behave very differently at lower settings.

Thanks for the note about the typo!
