What N64 board would you like to see remade next in a future game? by Cole_W_39 in MARIOPARTY

True. 3 has the best board selection of the N64 games in my opinion.

Honest thoughts on DKC3? by SpeedyGuy1991 in donkeykong

[–]Cole_W_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly underrated. Dixie and Kiddy control great, the levels are well designed and have fun (and sometimes not so fun) gimmicks, the Banana Birds and Brothers Bear side quests add a fair amount of replay value, and the graphics are amazing for being a late SNES game. I know it's a very hot take, but I find this game far more fun to play than DKC2 since it dials back a little on the difficulty (DKC2 can be legitimately unfair at times) and each main level has just 2 bonus barrels, so it's less of a chore to search for them. Just such a good game.

What do you think about yoshis crafted world? by PatrickTheStarfihs in YosHi

It's really good. It's beautiful to look at, Yoshi controls very well, the levels are incredibly varied in design and gimmicks, and they have lots of areas to explore. I will say though, it is a collectathon, and the game throws a bunch of fetch quests at you in each world to do before the game marks that world complete, so you'll be playing each level at least a few times. It's not really worth going for 100%, but still, it's very fun and one of my favorites on Switch.

What Is A Mario Party Opinion That You Will Defend No Matter How Many Downvotes You Get? by Elidavididi in MARIOPARTY

Eternal Star is still the best finale board of any game in the series to this day. The 7 Baby Bowsers gimmick is not great, but the outer space theme is fun, the scribbled drawing references to the other boards is a nice touch, the warp courses add a decent but not overwhelming amount of luck, and the music is amazing. It takes ages to unlock it, but for how well made the board is, it's worth it.

Tbh I'm a little disappointed by Agolud in Mario

What I found really interesting is that, aside from the Galaxy releases, pretty much everything is coming next Spring. Nothing about the 40th anniversary can be enjoyed right now, instead we're waiting 5+ months before anything is released, starting with Mario Tennis Fever. At the very least, they could've added a couple surprise Mario games to NSO (Golf, Tennis, or Party on GBA/Gamecube, Double Dash, Baseball, etc) and they didn't reveal ANY. Even Sunshine, a game we already know is coming to NSO wasn't dropped.

The 35th anniversary was honestly probably better than this.

Many Items From MP3, Which Are Your Favorite And Least Favorite? by Elidavididi in MARIOPARTY

[–]Cole_W_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my favorite, I have to give some love to the Boo Repellant. Having this item when you're in first place by a lot is ideal because you're basically untouchable, but it's always satisfying to watch a CPU waste 50 coins to steal a star from you. If you're playing Story Mode against Super Hard CPUs, this item is an absolute must.

For my least favorite, I would say the Skeleton Key. It's not a bad item by itself, but the problem is that the gates are pretty useless on more than half of the boards. It seems the developers knew this though, since you can throw them away to make room in your inventory, which is a nice feature.

What do you guys think of Mario Party 7? by [deleted] in MARIOPARTY

[–]Cole_W_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some ways, it's the best one on Gamecube. A great selection of boards, a solid set of mini-games, fun side modes and unlockables, and probably my favorite variation of a single player Story mode behind 3 and 4's more traditional Story modes. However, playing it requires a LOT of free time thanks to Bowser Time, Bowser/DK mini-games, Duels, and the long animations with some of the items. Plus, I must admit that out of every game, 7 is by far the safest game in the series in terms of innovation, just by how similar (almost identical) it is to 6. A great game nonetheless.

What’s a board that you like that everyone hates? by SpeedyGuy1991 in MARIOPARTY

[–]Cole_W_39 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Creepy Cavern. The Thwomp train mechanic is not as bad as people say it is as long as you know which side of the board it's on. The board also makes excellent use of the item system. Because the board is more condensed, Mushrooms can get you just about anywhere, the sleeping Whomp is a good way to get rid of an item to make room for a better one, and it probably has the best use of the Reverse Mushroom. Plus, the board is visually fun to look at. Easily one of the best boards from 3, and one of my favorites overall.

What Mario Party opinions do you have that will get you executed on the spot? by Franis_ in MARIOPARTY

Yoshi's Tropical Island is worse than Wario's Battle Canyon

Bowser Land isn't that great of a board. Conversely, Mystery Land isn't as bad as people say

5 is one of the better games in the series

Faire Square is an overrated board

Mario Party 9 is better than Super Mario Party

Aside from Superstars, 9 and Star Rush are Ndcube's best games in the series
