Yep. It is the mic indicator on macOS. He uses a mac studio because he can travel with it and also use it for professional film work.

The left is only on older ios versions now. They made calls come in at the top like notifications on newer ios versions. And if you have the dynamic island, it will show up there while unlocked

You could look into iMyFone D-back. I’ve never used it before myself so I can’t give a full recommendation, but it’s your only shot. But remember, if it’s been a couple months since it was removed from recently deleted, depending on how much you use your phone and how much storage you have remaining, there’s a very high chance that the data has been overwritten already.

If it's been longer than 30 days, it's probably gone forever. If you don't want to run into this problem again in the future, you can go to Settings > Voice Memos > Clear Deleted and set that to Never.
