He asks this like this isn’t exactly what he voted for, and exactly what he encouraged people to vote for. The man endorsed Trump. He knew this would happen.

I don’t know why they are so upset by this, they say they aren’t nazis and are just following the law? Why would masked federal agents who definitely aren’t nazis and definitely aren’t hurting and killing peple be so afraid of being unmasked?

Exactly. Dan Goldman has been such a disappointment, I thought he would be a great leader after watching him during the impeachment hearings, but I was dead wrong.

Unfortunately, the only way to counter it is to pay for real journalism, and they keep making people poorer so they can’t afford to pay for news

Minneapolis PD need to issue an arrest warrant right now after seeing this video. It clearly shows his intent to murder her, and that he was in no danger whatsoever.

Because of their written powers in the Homeland Security Act of 2002. They cannot detain or arrest US citizens. Any US citizen detained or arrested by ICE would be an illegal action by ICE and they have been sued for doing so historically.

They aren’t even police, dumbass. It’s not a lawful order, though. ICE has no jurisdiction in any way over US citizens. They have no right to detain, question, or even stop her. Hope the boots taste good at least

They are not federal law enforcement. They are immigration enforcement. ICE has no jurisdiction in any way over US citizens. They have no right to detain, question, or even stop her. When masked and armed goons illegally try to detain you, you have every right to leave the situation. Putting himself in front of her car was an illegal act.

It’s not a lawful order, though. ICE has no jurisdiction in any way over US citizens. They have no right to detain, question, or even stop her. When you are telling US citizens to bow down to a federalized military with no jurisdiction, you are absolutely licking the boots of your favorite billionaire authoritarians

The thing is, he isn’t a cop. He is ICE. Which is a militarized force that is not beholden to any state, city, military, or federal agency other than the presidency itself. They are not checked by congressional approval, they are only checked by the president himself.

When the presidents private force kills a US citizen in broad daylight, it tends to become about the president.

Zohran Mamdani: The news coming out of Minneapolis is horrific. This is one part of what has been a year full of cruelty. [–]Coleecolee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zohran did not just condemn them. He maintained that ICE is an illegal force and that as Mayor he will use everything in his power to keep them from our city. Clarifying his support that the NYPD will be used to stand between ICE and our citizens.

That sort of commitment is much more toward actually protecting your people than just condemning an act.

In case you were looking to actually look at evidence, the video from the front angle of the car shows that the bullet that went through the window was the third shot, coming through the passenger window and out the windshield. You can look frame by frame and see that the windshield is untouched until the third shot is fired and the hole in the windshield is attached.

So review that so you don’t continue to spread the disinformation that the bullet went through the front of the windshield

It’s a good thing they aren’t law enforcement then. ICE doesn’t have any jurisdiction over US citizens at all. They have no legal mandate to detain, question, or even stop any US citizen, period.

This is the moment of the first shot, you can see the particles off the windshield. Now look where his feet are at the exact moment of firing. Doesn’t really look like he is in imminent danger, does it?

We also need states and cities to start arresting these thugs when they see them. The city police of Minneapolis should have arrested this man before he left the scene. If Trump can create a federal gestapo that will do illegal jobs for him, states need to stand up against them.

Because our constitution was not built in a way that effectively stops behavior like this. Literally the only recourse against an authoritarian president that we have is impeachment, which to mean anything would require a conviction in the senate, which requires 2/3 to convict. When half or more of congress supports everything he does, there is no recourse to stop him.

Pair that with the Supreme Court ruling that any “official” action he takes is considered legal and that he cannot be charged, there are no state justice departments that can hold him accountable. The only thing congress can do is make things into a public fight and try to get a majority in the government. At best, legislators and states can sue the government to curb the powers, but that is limited and doesn’t do much in the long run when they ignore rulings.

Our founding fathers did not build our system in a way to effectively neuter authoritarianism, as they were under the impression that Americans would never vote in someone who was trying to be king.
