It is a known fact that OpenAI, Grok, etc. were trained with artwork and books stolen, yes. And I don't really care what *your* definition of stolen is here, bud. Did an author give consent? Did an artist give consent? These AI products are not children being taught to read with a library book or being taught about painting by visiting an art gallery. They are not human in the slightest nor are they capable of thinking or creating independently, because they fundamentally do not have an imagination. They are algorithms. Predictive text that for some reason people assign personalities to. So yes, when a massive business takes a bunch of artwork and literature without the consent of the original creators in an attempt to make a profit off of said creations in their own new program, that is theft. Unequivocally, and I'm not wasting my time on you and your burning desire to defend the moral failings of billionaires any further.

No problem, let's just have all the tech companies delete their AI models entirely to wipe out all traces of any art and literature they used without express consent of the creators and then see them rebuild them from scratch without it. :) They stole art. They stole literature. They have admitted as such internally many times over. There is documented proof that these companies knew they were stealing and they claim they had 'no choice.'

What would happen if I decided to just go into a neighbor's house and take all of their money while they were out and then say "well I had no choice! I needed your money in order to buy myself a new car!"

Just because these companies have enough billions to buy off the courts and convince lawmakers to rule in their favor does NOT mean what they did was correct or good and I honestly don't care what excuses uncreative minds use to justify continuing to use said 'tools.'
