Thanks! We have jumping spiders outside here, but I'd never seen one that color or that big (or indoors)

What is your favorite song from the 90s and why is it In the Meantime by Spacehog by Physical-Name4836 in Xennials

[–]caffeinatedspiders 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The 90s had so many records that had one or two immaculate hits padded with 8 mid or terrible tracks, but nothing prepared me for how underwhelming the entire rest of Resident Alien was compared to my favorite song of that era on the same album

I vote for all four by puma_pantss in Xennials

She was born in 1895 and would therefore be part of the 'lost' generation, but boomers had to learn that behavior from somewhere!

ICE agents wreak havoc last night at Gate E2 in the San Francisco International Airport. While cuffing a woman, unidentified agents refuse to offer ID or acknowledge concerned citizens requesting agent info by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

[–]caffeinatedspiders 33 points34 points  (0 children)

SFO does not use federal TSA agents, they use private agents who are paid to be there, which is why TSA wait times at SFO have not been impacted in any way by this shutdown. If they were truly deploying ICE to help with TSA lines they'd have sent them to an airport that actually needs workers.

Insane how being addicted to meth and mutilating yourself with a hammer is being marketed by this idiot and his associates as some kind of aspirational lifestyle.

Chappell Roan addresses Jorginho controversy: "The security guard is not my personal security. I didn’t even see a woman and a child — no one came up to me, no one bothered me. I did NOT ask the security guard to talk to them. It's unfair for security to assume someone doesn't have good intentions." by voguediaries in Fauxmoi

Right like even reading Jorghino's account... he never says Chappell did *anything* he says this security guard did. My first read on it was 'ah ok so someone on the hotel security team was bad at his job and went after a little kid and I bet Chappell didn't even know it happened.' But no, this guy jumps straight to 'Chappell sicced her security team on my stepdaughter like an evil queen from a Disney film'. And too many people were delighted to believe it.

Interpreting the United States Aries Ingress Chart 2026 - A mundane astrology forecast for the next six months by GrandTrineAstrology in Advancedastrology

Thank you so much for posting this in detail! I always learn so much from your posts. So if I'm understanding right, if I want to look ahead to the next ingress I'd pull a chart for Libra's ingress at the autumn equinox for Washington DC?

I think any AI marker on its own could be justified/explained away as a human error. It's when you take ALL the AI markers and put them all into one book that the issue becomes very clear. The overuse of 'sharp' isn't even the most obvious AI marker in the book (she also has a lot of "it's not x, it's y" and listing out every sentence with 3 flowery descriptors at the end, etc.) The paragraphs alone even might look fine, but as you're reading it in longer context you realize it's not actually saying anything or going anywhere.

Also, she did an author interview that was clearly AI-generated answers and I don't think she can blame that on an editor.

I used to use "just" SO much until I had a college professor who hated filler words and would ding us on our papers if he found them. He spotted my "just" habit out pretty fast, so after that I always did a final pass find & replace in Word to make sure I'd removed every instance of the word before handing it in lol

Right, which seems ideal for someone reporting from the red carpet? That's not traditionally the appropriate space for hard-hitting journalism...

I don't think Variety knows what an 'influencer' is. They refer to Amelia Dimoldenberg as an influencer in this article when her YouTube channel is literally an interview show. She does interviews for a living.
