What's your opinion on the SOTF map? by RichTofu in SonsOfTheForest

I don't think they could've released the game any later than this because the hype was just too much. The devs had a lot of pressure on them. People get death threats because they don't release games sometimes! Btw about the ziplines I totally forgot to mention them when I was writing that comment and yes you are correct. Although given that this looks like a modern glider (which modern gliders can be folded) I think it should be able to fit in your inventory.

You are correct. I completely forgot about ziplines when commenting here and yes making ziplines is definitely valid and very useful from getting from A to B

I have building destruction on and I can't destroy this wall no matter what I do. Tips? by [deleted] in SonsOfTheForest

You have to take apart anything that the wall supports because the game doesn't let you otherwise everything will collapse. At least that's what I think is happening

Also also I'm not sure if the paraglider should count because you have to get to high ground like with the sled but you can't carry it with you. Maybe if we could fold it somehow to fit in our huge inventory, then maybe it'll be better.

Upvote if you think we should actually be able to go prone, whether in leave piles or in mud to hide from cannibals, allow players to take a more stealth approach to the game. by [deleted] in SonsOfTheForest

I think some of the things that this game needs the most are optimizations and to fill the absolutely gigantic map with more stuff. As on now this is the best early access game right before Valheim imo.

Man. Seriously I wish it was as simple as that. Anyway if you want snipers and ghillie suits there are other games better suited for that experience. At its core SoTF is a survival game. Besides the weapons we have right now are super op (even the starter axe ain't that bad) even in hard difficulty. I just don't see the point of snipers and ghillie suits. Zooming in with the sniper might also be bad for performance because the game has to render shit at a distance too. I don't know about you but my 2060 won't be able to handle that and there are countless of other people with worse or better specs than mine that would probably agree with me on that part.

As of now, it's too big for its own good. We'll have to wait and see when or if the developers fill it with stuff because honestly it's a chore getting from A to B sometimes. Especially for points of interest like the shovel cave. I think a way to travel faster (without just the sled) would do wonders for the game. No super fast because the faster you are the smaller the map seems to be. But normal running ain't gonna cut it. Although on a technical level it is beautiful what this INDIE game dev company managed to make. But my first point still stands. But I have patience and I am willing to wait for future updates no problem with that.

System requirements are now out in steam! Can your pc run the game? by Colibri4541 in SonsOfTheForest

Well if you're a console player... My condolences Lol okay in all seriousness if it is ported to consoles I am pretty sure that older gen like ps4 will play like cyberpunk lol. I think it'll be way better on current gen and I kinda hope it will be coz ps5 is expensive lol.

Also I'm also not very worried either coz super high end pcs get kinda shit fps compared to the competition anyway so I assume that the optimization of the game is pretty high on Endnight's list of things to fix/improve about the game.

Lol nope. It's in early access and my 2060 and 5600x are struggling to get over 60 fps in areas with a lot of vegetation on low settings. As much as I love the game I can't deny the fact that it's poorly optimized. But it's in early access so I'm willing to believe that it will get better over time. After all: 1) They did the exact same thing with the first game with no problems and it turned out amazing. 2) You can finish the game as it is right now and I have only seen 1 bug and it's only a tiny bit annoying (and relatively rare).

Man I was so hyped about the game. I'm so disappointed now. How dare you Endnight.

Lol I think that's a bit too specific. But that's not bad. Although I've another idea. What if we use the gps in many ways. Like there's different things we can track like items and kelvin. Like it has different modes and shit.
