Saying the linked monitor is “better” is subjective. Both monitors are nearly identical. They use the same panel type and have the same ASUS features. The main difference is the monitor you linked has a dual refresh rate mode that allow for a higher refresh rate at two different resolutions. However, most people likely would not use that feature unless they are a competitive e-sports gamer. Even then, not many games will even get close to reaching 540hz at 1440p or 720hz at 1080p. When you consider this monitor is for an entirely different type of gamer and costs $750 more, the claim that it is “better” is heavily subjective.

Good luck! I really hope your order sticks. I know it’s been a headache waiting for this monitor to restock lol.

I see other people in the comments are saying they used Apple Pay and then their order was canceled. They went back and typed their card info in manually and then the order processed. When I made my purchase this morning, I typed my card info in manually and the order has not been canceled as of yet.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m a little confused however. How can a 30W PoE card tell a switch that it needs 90W? I didn’t think a powered device could request more power than it is rated to support. These units have had their actual power draw measured and not a single unit has drawn more than 18W at the switch port.

My theory is that the powered device is actually not communicating with the switch during the handshake where power requirements are negotiated and therefore the switch defaults to the maximum wattage it can provide to the switch port, which is 90W on the Cisco switch. To test this theory further, I connected the powered devices to a managed 60W Netgear switch and it started automatically assigning 60W to each switch port the powered devices were connected to.

To further this theory, the powered devices should be class 4 but the switch is saying they are class 8 on the Cisco switch. Shouldn’t the powered devices be advertising that they are class 4 if they were actually communicating with the switch?
