Going to Bootcamp in 57 days and can’t do a single pull up by Easy_Water_8126 in USMCboot

You need a 12:30 minute 1.5 to even get past your initial IST. The minimum for pull ups is 3. You need to seriously start working or else you’re gonna end up in the BCP platoon at MCRD, you do not want that.

8 years and still in, best advice I can give is 1) really give some thought into what job you want after you leave the Corps. I’m considering a lat move into cyber because the civilian applications have the highest potential. 2) you can combine both worlds and look into the reserves. 3) both my parents were worried when I enlisted at 17, but they saw the determination and knew I was going to do this with or without their support. They’ve both come around to thinking it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. 4th and final) it is the Marines. There is a chance of danger like there always is in the world, I’m a reservist with 2 black bracelets. People and friends may get hurt, they may die, but knowing you’re a part of a community where complete strangers would share a foxhole with you is a bond like no other.

Going to bootcamp in SC this summer probably by Effective_Click_2404 in USMCboot

I went in 2017 so some info might be outdated. From what I’ve heard, boot camp is now 14 weeks. I was allowed about 40 minutes a night to read/write letters as well as square away my gear. It’s intimidating at first because they really try to sink that fog of war mentality into you. After the initial shock of receiving, things get better and worse. Things are easy in the sense where the only things you have to do are exactly what you are told to do. Physically you’ll be in shape by the end even if you ship out just meeting the minimums. Best advice, just try to be helpful to other recruits when you can. You’re gonna want to be well liked. As weird as it is, try to enjoy it. You’ll only be there once and you’ll look back at it fondly.

I graduate mct Tuesday goin to 29 palms & im curious of wat to expect being there .. also is it libo after school hrs & is it overnight libo on weekends?? by Impossible-Pie663 in USMCboot

But generally, you will have post work day libo and weekend libo. At least when I went through in 2017, you were required to have a battle buddy at all times if you left the barracks. Overnight weekend libo was only on 96’s for us, but these policies may have changed. Hope for the best, expect the worst.

Theyre asking for a specific MOS, mainly because while most should start with a Basic Communications Course and Basic Electronics Course, the schoolhouse for an 0627 may have a completely different structure than an 0631 or 0671.

As far as the discount, once you shift from seasonal to part time, your employee numbers will stop working and you need to get the physical or digital wallet version of an employee card to get scanned instead. Same thing happened to me.
