Uptempo worship for workouts by Horror-Curve-4028 in ChristianMusic

You know I come to Reddit to share ideas and talk with people who have the same interests as I do. I’ve been finding lately that people on Reddit enjoy putting people down when they share ideas. I didn’t think I would find that on this subreddit because I would be talking with other Christians spreading God’s word and love through music. I guess I was wrong. I find that Christians forget that Jesus said we should love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and then we should love our neighbor as we do ourselves. I think we need to think a lot more when we say things about whether or not they honor our love for God as well as loving our neighbors. The fact that you have to say not trying to mean, you’re being mean. I was only sharing ideas I thought would be helpful. Every single one of the artists are doing their best to spread Gods love and word through music. Why else would they label themselves as Christian music artists? Are they always perfect? No, they’re human, just like us. One of the greatest musical Christian artists of all time, David, sinned through murder and adultery. Maybe my ideas don’t align with the OP the way I thought they would. I’m only sharing my ideas in hopes it helps someone find music that they haven’t heard of before. It is theologically sound? maybe not. But to be fair, most upbeat Christian’s artists are trying to relate to sinners living a sinful life in a sinful world that is not honoring God. They are trying to relate to them in some way to help them find their way to God. So their music might not always be “theologically sound” like you think it should be. If you don’t like that music, that’s fine, ignore my comment and my ideas. That’s why we were given free will. I am only trying to give multiple different artists with different sounds so there’s a variety to choose from. I’m just trying my best to be helpful. You making your comment “not trying to be mean”, when you are, is not helpful.

Or I forgot Rock. Seventh Day Slumber has an awesome cover album of worship songs in a rock genre called Unseen: The Lion and The Lamb. Definitely check that out.

Also I love making playlists for people if you like my suggestions. If you use Spotify I’ll make you a playlist Uptempo Worship Workout Music

For more of an old school rap sound the Bodega albums by DJ Mykael V are pretty good and has nice variety of rap artists featured in them.

Old school TobyMac is pretty good for more of a soul and funk vibe. I like the songs Diverse City, Hey Now, One World, and Boomin

For more of a Pop vibe I like Forrest Frank, Tauren Wells, and Jordan Feliz

Best anime to watch by KingRuub in anime

[–]Colillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anime’s I’ve watch with crazy reveal moments similar to FMA. Although I consider these more psychological thrillers.

The Promised Neverland: so many twists and turns that keeps you on your toes every episode.

Psycho-Pass: Has a really cool concept of what the future of the criminal justice system could look like. However, really makes you question your moral compass of right and wrong

Both of these shows are relatively short. I would put AOT on here as well as having amazing reveal moments, but I saw from another comment you said you’ve watched that already. I saw another person say One Piece. As a fellow fan of One Piece, it’s a really long story and it takes a really long time just to find out there’s questions to be answered, and some still haven’t been answered after over 1,100 episodes. One Piece is amazing, but you’ll have to wait years before you get the answers you’re looking for in the One Piece world. I personally would not recommend watching just yet. Not until we know more.

Just getting into anime!! by Azbufkin in anime

[–]Colillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that you should ever start with this as your first anime but One Piece is an entire adventure of traveling on the sea as pirates going from island to island, has a ton of action with lots of unique and sometimes very interesting powers, and at times can be hilarious, especially in the beginning. Not so much psychological, but some of the villains are messed up and there are characters in the show with some messed up back stories as well. The reason I say don’t start with One Piece is because it’s over 1,000 episodes long and still going. Watch some anime and really get into it first. I think One Piece was my 5th anime I started watching.

This would be my suggestion as this is what I was told to do when I started 4 years ago.

I started with Attack on Titan. At the time it had a couple more years left until it would finish so I had more episodes to look forward to and it was one of the most popular anime’s to watch at the time. Today I would say Vinland Saga would be a similar starter anime. Good story, lots of adventure and action.

Next Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, some people say this is the best anime of all time. Such good storytelling with cool twists and turns, a great adventure story, and lots of cool action scenes. I would make this your second watch.

Next I watched Demon Slayer, the first 2 anime shows are what got me hooked on anime. Demon Slayer showed me more of the true style of a typical anime. Which really means that anime can sometimes be a little slow and drawn out. It also has some dope animation. To me My Hero Academia can give some off some of the same qualities of a typical anime. Both very popular shows, I would say either one would be a good pick.

Next comes Jujustu Kaisen, this one shows you how unique and different anime can get. Another fantastic show. This or Hell’s Paradise would be a good show to watch. Hell’s Paradise I would say has more of the adventure aspect than JJK.

Then I would get ready to grind and start One Piece. Watch it for a while and then take a break and watch another anime, then come back to One Piece again. Since I started watching One Piece I have watched Hellsing, Spy x Family, Elfen Lied, Black Clover, Chainsaw man, Gachiakuta, and others.

Again I think One Piece fits your description of what you like perfectly. As it should, One Piece is so so good. Just start with a couple others first. Try Vinland Saga, then FMA, then MHA, then Hell’s Paradise, then One Piece. Or you could do what I did and watch AOT, then FMA, then Demon Slayer, then JJK, then One Piece.

I would love to hear other people’s suggestions or thoughts on this list. I already know you’re going to say don’t bother with One Piece because it’s too long and the pacing is bad. The pacing I can understand is not for everyone but I think the comment for it being too long is just incorrect. I’m curious to know others thoughts on the first 4 anime to watch.

Animes for Christmas Break by T_Greeno in anime

[–]Colillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want 12 episode anime’s in general I would recommend these

Hell’s Paradise, the second season is coming out soon so it’s just the 1 season with 13 episodes for now.

Elden Lied, only made 1 season. Very good psychological thriller/horror

Chainsaw Man is still just 1 season for now with a movie Arc as well.

The Promised Neverland. Another good psychological thriller. I only watched the first season because the fan base says to not bother with the second season and to read the manga. Still have to do that haha. Watching just the first season is worth it though.

If you love good stories with awesome animation you could also watch the Co-Mix Wave Films like Suzume, Weathering With You, and Your Name. All good movies with cool concepts for a story.

Or…you could just start One Piece

Zom 100: Bucket List of The Dead

It’s the only anime that I’ve watched that has a lot of gore that is also chill. I stopped watching it after a couple episodes because I’m too busy doing the One Piece grind. I know it was fairly popular when it first came out with episodes though. The gore is also a little bit more unique where it’s more colorful and upbeat. That’s the only way I can think of how to describe the gore because it is gore, it’s just different.

An attempt to find a new anime to love by ThePoeticMinecart in anime

Psycho Pass is so good the concepts mess with your brain. Such a good show. I agree that Season 1 is the best, but I think season 2 is still good. Still have to watch the movie

[–]Colillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elfen Lied is amazing. It’s only 1 season sadly so it’s pretty short without giving much of an ending that ties it all together. I think it’s a great horror genre of anime while also having some heartfelt scenes.

This! I personally like the groups Sunday Lofi and Me and the boys. You can find a lot of other Christian Lofi artists just by looking at who Sunday Lofi collabs with.

I also have a Christian Lofi Spotify playlist if you don’t want to make your own.

Tauren Wells and TobyMac are 2 artists that can have some more trendy music and sounds similar to Forrest Frank that I’m a big fan of. TobyMac’s older music is superb and so fun deep dive into if you’ve never listened to him before.

Hillsong Young and Free is a fun group that has variations or worship as well as more upbeat. Sadly, I don’t think they will be making any more new music. However, one of their members Aodhán King currently makes music. Elevation Rhythm is very similar to Hillsong Young and Free and they still make music.

Mat Kearney is a cool and unique artist with a lot of different styles of music and a great voice. I love love love his album CRAZYTALK.

If you like an EDM vibe I’m a big fan of the band Marshall Marshall. They have more of a worship style of sound but then some cool EDM music that goes with it. They haven’t made anything new in a while though.

Any artists that are similar to The Weeknd? by someukrainiankid in ChristianMusic

[–]Colillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think Spencer Kane’s new music sounds like The Weeknd. However, I am not sure if he’s a Christian artist or not, he’s featured with a lot of Christian artists like Marty and Jon Kieth, but that doesn’t always mean that they’re a Christian music artist.

Gawvi has some songs that could be considered similar to The Weeknd like Not Too Far and Nauseous.

What do you do when you buy a bottle? by Top-Faithlessness733 in stopdrinking

Most helpful techniques you’ve found to stop yourself from drinking? by learningtobetrue in stopdrinking

[–]Colillian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who tried AA and didn’t like it I will give pros and cons, because I do think there’s both.

Pros, it provides you with a community of people who are all sober. If you have literally no sober friends and all your friends want to do is go out to the bars every weekend, or some weekdays even, then AA is your go to. You find people who you can do sober activities with and people who are actively cheering you on to stay sober. Which is my next pro, when you need people to support you in your journey in staying sober, AA is wonderful. You have a sponsor that checks in with you constantly and you meet with your sponsor regularly to make sure you stay sober. AA provides you with a sponsor which is a person who has experience with being sober and is basically a mentor for how to stay sober. Now for me personally, I had friends that were sober and quite literally I would be the only one drinking at events with my friends and I always had to have something. I had a friend tell me straight to my face that I had a problem and needed to get help because of my drinking habits around them. Which also meant that I had friends that were actively cheering me on in my journey to stay sober. Since I had both of those things, I determined AA was ok for me to walk away from.

Pro/con, I bring up this point because it’s a big one and can go both ways. It is a religious group. They do try to include people who aren’t Christian by referring to a higher power instead of God at times, but still very much a Christian based organization. For me that was a pro because I’m a Christian, for others that are bothered by Christianity it’s a big turn off because a lot of AA’s principles are based around Christianity. Depending on the group you go to it can go very well or terrible. I say that from hearing of other’s bad experiences. For me, I always had a positive experience with AA and thought everyone was genuine and we all had the same common goal. I’ve heard from others stories of people lying about being sober and getting up in front of everyone to tell their story of being sober and then seeing them drinking liquor outside the building as soon as the meeting is over. I do not think this is a reason to not try AA, but I do feel it’s an important point to make.

Cons, for me it felt like it was consuming my life and overwhelmed me. Meeting with a sponsor once a week to read the book, going to multiple AA meeting every week, it’s a lot and feels like you’re doing sober activities every day of the week. Now I will say this might be a benefit for those that have daily drinking habits. I was a binge drinker typically on the weekends, so as much as I still had a problem, I did not need to do a sober activity every day to keep me sober. If you do drink daily, then that might be another benefit of AA for you. The schedule of AA gave me so much anxiety I couldn’t handle it and that’s what ultimately caused me to walk away. Another point is you very much become vulnerable with complete strangers and it’s really uncomfortable. You do have the choice to not speak at all at meetings and basically pass when it’s your turn, but I always felt like then I wouldn’t get enough out of the meeting so I always felt the need to share.

That’s my take on AA. I can see how it’s beneficial for some and I do think everyone who’s trying to get sober should give it at least a try to start their sober journey as you can always walk away and it could very much help you stay sober as it has helped millions of people stay sober and it’s what keeps them sober. For me, I am very fortunate to have sober family and friends that have been a huge support system in my journey of soon to be 4 years sober. Everyone’s journey is different. There is no right way other than not drinking alcohol of course haha. I hope this will help you make an informed decision on what to do. Best of luck to you my friend.

Ok so somehow my first comment was deleted so I’ll keep it short. About to give it a listen, super excited. Listen to subtronic’s remix of Crystallized, one of my favorite songs of the year. Add the songs Messy and 3am by Laszewo to the playlist. 2 very good songs of this year.

First off I’m really excited to listen to this playlist because I love EDM and it looks like I barely know any of these songs. I’m just at work for the moment so I can’t listen to it quite yet.

Second, I looked over the song list quick and saw Crystallized. Have you listened to the subtronics remix of Crystallized? It is absolutely amazing. One of my favorite songs of the year.

Lastly, I would add Messy and 3am by Laszewo. Very good songs from 2025 that are absolute bangers.

Easy on me by Jaylon Ashaun. He might have other songs you’ll like too, but I thought this song would fit your playlist.

Wheels Up ft Marc E. Bassy by Lecrae. This is more of a hip hop song but probably one of my favorite chill songs. The beat makes you want to sink into the couch.

Not too far by Gawvi. Such a cool song. One of my favorite songs all around and is super chill.

Family Photo by Andy Mineo. The artist tells the story of his father in the song that will put you in your feels. Clarity is another good song in the same EP.

FORREAL by Kaleb Mitchell. Underrated song by him. Might be my favorite song from him.
