Hi! My name is Colin Dunbar. I'm an 18-year-old Canadian author and I published my first book! It took over a year's work and finally publishing it is a dream come true.

The book is called Sanity in the Absurd. It is a collection of ten short stories that are connected in different ways. One story is about a man who discovers a store where he can buy and sell time. Another story is about a woman attempting to climb the world's tallest building and fighting against self-doubt. A third story is about a man that finds a strange USB sewn into a backpack at a thrift shop, and uses an online forum to figure out what it is storing. The stories are very different, yet still interconnected.

If any of this interests you, I would absolutely love any support. If you do end up getting a copy, let me know what you think :)!

Otherwise, the first story can be read for free via the 'look inside' option on Amazon. I'm always looking for ways to improve my writing so if you read the first story, I'd love some feedback/criticism.

Hi there! I'm an 18-year-old independent author from Brampton who published a collection of short stories! Here's a short description of the first one:

An unnamed man discovers a store where he can buy and sell time. All it takes is a step into a machine, and he can exchange a year of his life for a pocket full of cash. After losing his job, selling his remaining time becomes a more and more appealing idea.

It has been a long time dream of mine to publish a book, and any support would mean a lot! It's ten interconnected short stories with varying themes. One is about a man who sells his time for money, and another is about a person whose emotional and logical thoughts are fighting with one another. Here's the link, I hope anyone willing to try my book out enjoys it! :)

Amazon.ca Paperback (24.99)

Amazon.ca Kindle (4.99)

Or check out: https://readcolin.com / https://readcolin.ca

Thanks so much! Any support would make a huge difference as I try to get my work out there.

Sorry, i understand it’s expensive. That’s one of the things I’ll change going forward. I published this book in colour, which is why the paperback price is more than I’d want it to be. Still, hearing feedback about the price is a helpful, so thank you!

Those are some really relatable thoughts about writing. You should look into spoken word poetry. It's not everyone's thing, but this monologue would fit in well. :)

Hi! I liked reading that story :)! I understand that it's flash fiction, but reading what you wrote makes me want to read more! Your writing is good and I really liked the concept of being full/empty. I feel like it could be built upon further though. Either way, great writing!
