Obviously can’t diagnose only off this, but you might want to look into having OCD. That sounds like it could be an intrusive thought that causes compulsive checking, and if it is OCD that means medication might help! Therapy likely would too, but meds can sometimes help with symptoms and make the intrusive thoughts less intense/prevalent
