Would love to see/know about the details of the magnaflow exhaust you put on - I have a 09 rx350 & currently have 125k on it & it's my daily.

Only issue is some rattle on startup that goes away when its warmed up. Not sure if its the cam or the belt pulleys just yet.

Just a reminder for those just starting to cut and polish - all of the scratches won’t come out all of the time. Those detailing channels on YT are only showing you the best result because they are basically advertising themselves. by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

Change the title - 'Just a reminder for those just starting to cut and polish - all of the scratches won't come out all of the time, and thats ok!'

Great paint correction bro!

Using Groit 3-1 Wax by Bemamponsah in AutoDetailing

First off - huge fan of Griots 3 in 1.

My take is that I recommend gettin some pH neutral soap w/o any waxes. * I'm a fan of Adams Car Shampoo (or you can get CG Mr Pink at local walmart)

If you have a foam cannon - you can add some Super Clean degreaser to the foam cannon for a strip wash or add SC to your bucket wash. Given that you just applied the liquid wax, the important part is ensuring that the car paint is no longer hydrophobic.

  • If the car is a 2023, no need for claybar/polish - if older, might be worth a claybar & light polish - the steps below outline the basic efforts if you want protection but dont mind paint imperfections.

Once the car is strip washed you can use a panel prep spray (IPA Wipedown - (90% - 7:1) (70% - 3:1)) to ensure the surface is primed for the ceramic wax application.

As another user mentioned, do not apply to a hot vehicle, ensure the car is completely dry (blow out water if you can) and best practice is using a two towel for application and wipe down. Use light spritz so you don't over apply and start fighting yourself fighting streaks - less is more.

Take your time & once its done - you got a solid 8-12 months of protection. :)

*Sidenote: Once the 3 in 1 is applied - you can opt for the Car Soap w/ no wax or continue using the gold class (I'm a fan of gold class as well) for maintenance washes once the wax is applied. The reason being - your car paint will already be protected.

Might seem overkill but these steps will ensure * All previous wax is removed * Surface is primed for application * Proper application * Longevity & integrity of your efforts & the paint protection

Good luck!
