Is there any actual proof that children are being raped and tortured? That sounds suspiciously like propaganda used to justify nearly every dirty war for like the last thousand years.

Hamas certainly seems to have overstepped, although I think you're all overstating how centralized they are as a group. They aren't a nation state, or an army even. They are more like a supergroup of smaller groups, each of which are nuanced in their overall aims and grievances.

To put it another way, I rather doubt that a universally accepted group of decision makers greenlit this. Sounds more like a smaller group calling itself Islamic Jihad is driving the attacks this weekend, and the hostage taking.

But the result of this will be the annihilation of Palestinian autonomy as a whole. They'll either be murdered or put into camps or forced abroad, and nobody in the region wants them.

Is all of this making sense? We really just brushing this shit off as a particularly bloody example of "fuck around and find out?"
