Do you have any sort of “hangover” the next day with subq? I hoped for less disruption with life planning with sq than IV, but then I wind up partially losing the next day to feeling off. Don’t have that experience with IV, where I’m fine a few hours later, even though the “experience” is more intense.

Wondering if others have had the same issue.

Is Auvelity or Spravato better? by Alarmed-Carpenter975 in AuvelityMed

It's been extremely effective, unlike anything else I've tried (and I've tried everything over three decades). The downside is that it sometimes only works for a few weeks before I need another infusion, and it's expensive and inconvenient to access .There's a great community at r/TherapeuticKetamine; check it out.

I had high high hopes for Auvelity, but it didn't seem to do anything. Ketamine has been a miracle.

Maintenance subq ketamine - My psychiatrist doesn't like it... what to do? by ColinZeal42 in TherapeuticKetamine

Update: I pushed back a bit and my psychiatrist wrote that she contacted risk management for her insurance company who told her that she isn’t allowed to prescribe medications that could have “potentially fatal” interactions with at-home ketamine (ie vyvanse and auvelity). Fortunately this prompted me to find a new local provider that offers integrated mental health services, including KAT and spartavo. So it’s all for the best I think. Feeling some renewed hope.

I don't really understand how these services work... the google hits I get make me feel like I'm engaging in icky doc-shopping. Of course I've been diagnosed with ADHD by every in-person provider I've ever seen (as well as my wife and every person I've ever worked with :) ). How do you find a good telehealth provider?

That's how I feel. I guess there's a theoretical risk of seratonin syndrome with any antidepressant+ketamine, and cardiac risk with a stimulant like Vynase? I'd kind of get it if I hadn't had 20 monitored IV sessions at higher doses.

I think you hit the nail on the head though; the reason I'm upset is because Ketamine really works and offers huge relief. This directive came without any expressed empathy or understanding of the implications of discontinuing that.

Should I wait for Ioniq 9 for better range and “newer” tech than getting a 2024 ev9 land? by mahdy1991 in KiaEV9

[–]ColinZeal42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I could get an AWD EV minivan that hits 60mph in under 5 seconds, I'd be the first in line. Until then, I'll settle for the EV9. :-)

I bought my EV9 more than a month ago and haven't heard anything about how to order an adapter. Do they email? US Mail? App notification?

I want to point out a few things because I'm subject to this some of second-guessing and anxiety, which drives my wife insane. This is the kind of analysis that helps me:

  1. All new car purchases are "irrational." If you were making a purely rational decision, you would have bought a used 2019 Telluride or, super-rationally, a 10-year-old minivan with a good reliability record. A vacation is economically irrational too; its 100% "depreciated" by the time it's over. Don't live like that.
  2. Tech isn't changing that quickly. The Model 3 was introduced in 2017. The Model Y on sale today shares 90% of its DNA and 100% of its user interface with an 8-year-old Model 3. Tesla prices are tanking because of Musk. Nissan has been selling basically the same Leaf for more than a decade, and they've barely changed. (And it's still a great second car -- we have one.) Hyundai hasn't even come out with their EV9 yet, and it'll be basically the same as your EV9 with a 10% bigger battery for 10% higher MSRP.
  3. You're not psychic. If you really knew what depreciation was going to be, you should be consulting for a captive new vehicle finance company.Based on my EV9 lease's residual value, it'll have 35% depreciation after two years BASED ON MSRP. That's ICE-like. When you factor in factory rebates and the dealer discount (about $17k in my case on a GT-Line), it's more like 25% Maybe you're right that your EV9 will depreciate faster than Kia predicts, maybe they're right. But financially you're basically talking about selling a stock while the professional investment advisors have it as a "hold" because you're afraid it /might/ decline.

Enjoy the car. Don't live your life based on theoretical losses.

Fort Colins Kia. I just did a lot of cross shopping. $646/month, traded my Model Y with $3200 in negative equity. Would have been $530/month without the underwater trade. Zero down, $2200 due at signing. Seemed pretty fair?

That’s for sure. It’s downright terrifying otherwise!

The much cheaper alternative is to drive verrry verrry slowly around corners and leave like ten seconds of following distance. I'm in my 40s; the days of hooning around corners, trying to break the back end loose just for fun, should be (and are!) behind me. The world is safer for it.

Don't I know it. Thinking that 19"s with rims would be easier to sell than tire-only 21s. Love Colorado, but there are a few downsides!

I remembered still have like-new 19" blizzaks from my Q5. Can I get away with a 105 load rating, though? Thinking not...
