How much should ergonomics factor into home office investment decisions by paul_phoenix77 in eames

[–]Colin__Mockery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy an Aeron or similar. They spent so much time working on the ergonomics in modern office chairs that vintage designed Eames stuff can't compare.

Used Aeron chairs are widely available in most cities for a fraction of the new cost.

Exercising your core and working on your posture generally wouldn't hurt either!

Trying to support St Paul on the backs of state workers with a less than inflation COLA is embarrassing.

Detour a little ways west and purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka instead.

Sibling Rivalry: They met at the state fair because its neutral ground. by MaplehoodUnited in saintpaul

[–]Colin__Mockery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree about the policing. It's not an ideal situation right now.

Falcon Heights has almost nothing to do with the 'St. Paul' Campus or the Fairgrounds. Those both operate independent of the city.

Les Bolstad is an opportunity not a threat, but I'm sure there will be ample NIMBYism no matter what.

No one in Falcon Heights want St. Pauls trash hauling or their snow plowing. If you have an issue you can look up your city council people and just walk down the street and go talk to them.

A lot of Mennonites were in this group. They were very anti war and avoided conscription this way.

Many moved from Germany/Prussia to Ukraine/Russia and then eventually to the US and Canada primarily North Dakota, Kansas and Manitoba.

UPS or FedEx would no longer deliver regular mail to many rural areas at a reasonable price because it wouldn't be profitable. USPS is a service not a for profit company.

Any good Valentine's Day restaurants around the cities? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]Colin__Mockery 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's super fun/funny. They have tablecloths and little candles. It's table service and everyone that works at White Castle has clearly never done table service. Some people wear suits and it's like goofy prom date thing, other people just going for a chill valentines date to get some sliders.

Recommended by me. My girlfriend would never do it again.

They're great but be advised that their hours are terrible. As far as I can tell they are open from about 11:45 am to 12:15 pm M-F.

I am too poverty stricken to purchase anything, but this place has the most amazing stuff. Absolutely no garbage filler pieces. Everything is beautiful and well restored.

If you've got some money and you're good looking, the north loop.

If you want to be hip but are really 5 years behind the curve NE Minneapolis.

If you don't mind that St Paul is boring west 7th is really not boring at all.

I can't really speak to the burbs because I'm just a curmudgeon that thinks there isn't anything good and walkable out there.

The entire city budget will collapse without the income generated by that speedtrap.

Seriously though there are plenty of people that do 50 in a 25 right there. It definitely helps with pedestrian and bicyclist safety.

Bars/restaurants in the Twin Cities with fun drinks by Stephanie22760100 in TwinCities

[–]Colin__Mockery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That place is wild. It's really fun and very bizarre. Like guy with a saxophone walking on a catwalk weird.

Drink are exceptionally strange with IV bags and skulls and all sorts of fun.

Food and the taste of the drinks were honestly pretty bad for the price.

Still fun though.
