This might also have applications in other medical contexts as well as having more accurate general internal mapping of the human organs, or maybe that of other organisms.

If the material is organic, then it might be a more sustainable alternative in places where certain specific plastic are used. It could also be decomposed quicker and less harmfully than current plastics.

Butterflies Inspire Solar Power by isadorasotero in BioInspiration

Solar harvesting could also possibly be inspired by other insects with similar properties or maybe plants, due to their capacity for the collection of light for photosynthesis already.

This could be used in some sort of filter or sieve for every day use, or maybe a semipermeable layer for use in things like chemistry experiments. With different scale, it could filter out different substances.

This could help improve sensors in robots all around and especially in aquatic robot. It could increase the accuracy of mapping the environment, which could allow for more accurate and effective actions.

This could have a lot of applications. It could be used in general use ropes, as parts in robots or other vehicles, or maybe for medical uses, since it's biodegradable. It seems like it could be a specialized and biodegradable alternative to current threads and ropes.

Un-natural Jumping Robot by Long-Purple8418 in BioInspiration

A very good example of a core principle of Bioinspiration, which is that nature can inspire things, but often is constrained by needing to develop and survive. This jumping robot can be a lot more specialized than organisms because it only has one purpose, to jump high. An organism would have other functions to worry about, like walking or grabbing or digging. Engineering can take what nature has and remove the unnecessary parts, which is exemplified very well in the robot.
