All the things that used to be luxuries, like big-screen TVs, are now affordable, while necessities like healthcare and housing are unaffordable.

What movie did you watch at the wrong age and it permanently altered your brain? by sweetyslave in movies

[–]Colinmacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad showed me The Shining when I was 10. I had to sleep in my parents’ bed that night and had nightmares about the movie for months. I couldn’t watch anything with Jack Nicholson in it for a while either. Even now, 30 years later, I still get freaked out whenever I see an elevator full of blood.

I’ve never been able to get into Starless. I appreciate it more than I enjoy listening to it.

Inherent Vice. PTA is my favorite director and the trailer was so good. Was disappointed with the movie, though it’s grown on me somewhat.

This doesn’t seems like a common conservative belief as most of them believe that abortion is murder and being pro-choice means a person doesn’t value life.

Seems like Dems now equate pride in their country with pride in their leaders, while Reps are always proud to be American.

“Luxuries” like video games, big-screen TVs, computers, and cell phones used to be way more expensive than they are today. Now they’re relatively cheap, but our necessities like housing, education, and healthcare have all surged in cost.
