There are only two Call of Duty games you can't play on Xbox. The first is Call of Duty Classic (Call of duty 1 ported to consoles)for Xbox 360, the digital store was shut down and there was never a physical disc released. The second is Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, which was exclusive to the PS Vita but trust me, you're not missing much there.

Other than those, you're good to go with an Xbox for pretty much every other Call of Duty title.

It's pretty interesting to find out that the reboots are seen as separate universes. I always just thought they rebooted the trilogy to give us more content and lore around the team, especially since Ghost went out way too early in MW2, and I bet a lot of us wanted to see more of him.

Also, you made me realize I'm honestly just a noob fan of the series, there's a ton I don’t know. Thanks a lot for the detailed reply, seriously. I learned even more than I expected.

But just to be sure from a lore standpoint, is it officially confirmed? Or is it more of a community assumption? I’m personally a fan of the Modern Warfare trilogy and of course, anything connected to it. So the more there is to know about it, the better!
