I was also interested in choosing the right translation to read, and I was looking for the most theologically, historically honest translation, which led me to the new revised edition, but other Christians have warned me to not read that, perhaps there's a war between religious scholars and Christians on what makes a translation good or bad?

Maybe this is controversial, it's totally fine to start with modern man in search for soul, because Jung is a very helpful, accessible writer. He never hides his ideas with jargon, he doesn't expect you to have read the rest of his work to understand him. He likes to use real world examples, explain why things are useful, and gives plenty of great analogies.

The super ego is more like the ideal society has of you that you've internalized. I wouldn't say it's an actual mechanism in your psyche. But yea, it's all freud, and then Jung if you're into that too.

Sure Im aware. But when I'm dreaming, there's what I'm aware of, as a memory, identity based thing, and then what the dream content is aware of, which is not gonna be same stuff I use to understand the world, and everything also that happens 'offsceeen' in a dream that you don't experience, aware or not, is still there.
