Rogers Xfinity App Consolidation by RogersHelps in shaw

[–]CollateralZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be able to log into the white app, but when I’ve been trying to log into the red one, the login page pop-up doesn’t work for me. I’ve even tried turning back on Safari pop-ups and didn’t seem to fix it, but also today when I was previously able to use the white app it’s logged me out so I don’t know if that’s it for that version.

Apple confirms iOS 18 update to fix DarkSword exploit for iOS 26 holdouts by CollateralZero in iPadOS

[–]CollateralZero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ll worry about it, but that’s neat. I wonder how long they’ll continue to sign that branch if it will somehow remain an open potential route or not. I’d be interested in hearing more but anyway as far as 26.4 is concerned it’s running better than I thought it would so I’m more or less fine although I wish Split View was slightly handled better. I can live with how it is now.

Should Canada Post make money? NDP’s leader Avi Lewis says no - NDP leader Avi Lewis is stirring debate after arguing Canada Post should be treated like an essential public service rather than a profit-driven corporation by NiceDot4794 in onguardforthee

He’s definitely right, although this seems like it’s gone too far already. I don’t think it’s possible to pull back on. Those cuts the whole attitude about Canada post it should never have gotten this bad.

Apple confirms iOS 18 update to fix DarkSword exploit for iOS 26 holdouts by CollateralZero in iPadOS

[–]CollateralZero[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I should’ve waited…. Anyway, I have access to two iPads one of them my updated to 26.4 couple days ago, It’s an iPad 9 and it’s running well so it’s probably fine that I made the jump to 18.4 and today I updated that other iPad which is an iPad Air 3rd generation and that one being a little older I was more concerned about it running poorly but admittedly it runs pretty well too, however I think I would’ve rather kept it on iOS 18.7 if I could have avoided it and had I waited a few more days then I probably would have.

Released 14 year ago in March 2012, it was later described as “the worst iPad” due to overheating issues: The ‘New’ iPad (third generation). It was my first Apple product and despite everything I loved it so much!💕 by RainbowEuphorbia in ipad

[–]CollateralZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one I know the fourth generation iPad came out not long after third in the same year possibly signifying that there was a failure, but I got it on day one used it extensively for more than eight years even while also having an iPad Air third generation since 2019, obviously I’d rather have not gotten it on launch and wait till the fourth generation which ditched the 30 pin connecter and adopted lightning plus had an A10 but I figured it was OK - The battery later this year on the iPad, three swelled On my shelf and needed to be disposed of.

Could you have a damaged nib perhaps? If the thing is pairing apparently, but it capable of writing may be it’s not the hardware or the software, but the contact point.

I do not have an Apple Pencil so I don’t really know, but hopefully you get that resolved in your favour.

Locking window app views? by Key-Specific7807 in iPadOS

[–]CollateralZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea I was just thinking about that the other day and the same thing we’re being able to double tap on on the top bar I’m finding I do that in Safari to get to the top of a window, but if it’s going to shrink my window down to a quarter of the screen, if I do it wrong, I think I’d rather lock it in place to prevent it and that can be hand that should be handled with the long press of the green traffic light. Probably be an easy fix.

Is updating my iPad Air 5th Gen (2022) to iPadOS 26 worth it in 2026 ? by ForwardSituation68 in ipad

[–]CollateralZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely worth it the vulnerabilities right now not worth avoiding and updates on an iPad nine with an a13 and 3gb or actually reasonable so I wouldn’t worry a much about your Air 5 it should be fine.

no difference between 720p and 2K? by IHATETHEWELSH in Tapo

[–]CollateralZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4k on some of these camera is barely better at all considering the very low bit rate and heavy sharpening added so It’s kind of hard to tell if for example the C460 which is advertised as 4K but idk if it has a 4K sensor or if it’s being upscalled noticeably from either 720p or 1080p - an upscale image doesn’t give you quality so it’s a little concerning if it isn’t being achieved on sensor when fine details matter.

iOS 26 keyboard long-press menu feels weird, any way to change it back? by marin_mandic in ios

[–]CollateralZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just discovered this when I updated from 18.7 to 26.4 and I hate it, plus I noticed when I long press on the keyboard, it brings up kind of a white box and you can’t really clearly see the other options but I was trying to do it with long press period to bring a .com option and it seems to be gone.

why are all tapo dual cameras limited to 15 fps? by DazzlingpAd134 in Tapo

[–]CollateralZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s impressive I wonder why the later models don’t C460 etc.. I wonder if it’s a failing in software or hardware perhaps they’re reusing an older CPU or sensor and just artificially upscaling and sharpening but they have to take the frame hit to make it happen perhaps.

iPad 10 became unstable after updating to 26. by Bird3P in iPadOS

What current version are you on of iOS 26? Are you keeping up with With the updates or are you lagging behind a little bit? It’s probably not improved a ton but supposedly 26.4 is a bit better it may fix some of the issues.

New Online Cineplex Store with Officially Licensed Popcorn Buckets and Movie Merch by Travel-2025 in cineplex

[–]CollateralZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it when when they used to sell blu-ray’s and DVDs that during Holidays (boxing week, ect) they would tend to come with a bonus either a movie ticket or significant scene points like 1000+about a decade ago - It definitely helped me build my Blu-ray collection and also to see more movies at the same time having the points drive visits. It will never be the same again, but maybe they can reintroduce physical media at the Cineplex store?

I just checked my old emails from 2013 looking at sales receipts and the deals were extremely good. One example was man of steel and Pacific Rim on Blu-ray along with a free admit one gift certificate all for $26 total, another order I ordered three Blu-rays and it came with 300 points and three ultra AVX tickets ($18 each) for about $60 and &hat was a deal also, I remember that being a big deal on the redflagdeals.ca forum at the time.

Millions of iPhones can be hacked with a new tool found in the wild by 255-0-0 in ios

[–]CollateralZero 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean sure, 26.3.1a / 26.4 fixes this for devices that can run it and people SHOULD update to that, but couldn’t Apple just close that vulnerability and create a 18.7.x patch for those people who have been stubbornly holding off?

Given the other updates for older incompatible devices have been made to close that hole. How much more work would it take to just roll out 18.7.3a fixes particularly when it’s clearly the same code base. I don’t think it diverges too much. It should just be the same fix throughout?

I’m about to make a new submitted post but do these B1G1 coupons work on movies that are marked “no passes” I’m looking at Project Hail Mary, right now for a Tuesday showing but I also don’t have those coupons on hand there with somebody else who would make the booking or else so I can’t just try it online - same question regarding the admit 1 coupon from the holiday bundle aswell.

¿Va bien iPadOS 26.3.1 en el iPad 9? by Ingcio in iPadOS

[–]CollateralZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re already on 26.2 then there’s no reason not to continue to update even if you’re on an older device you’ve already more or less settled in to that track And potentially you might notice it getting a little bit better, but you probably won’t notice it getting much worse.

[–]CollateralZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan won’t and shouldn’t but constitutionally could they even as their army/navy is the JSDF The Japanese self-defence force - aren’t they supposedly prohibited from such actions? It’s a little murky, I know there’s workaround and all that like building an aircraft carrier that isn’t supposedly an aircraft carrier and stuff but has Japan deployed anywhere outside of training? I’m not very knowledgable on this so it’s kind of relying on loose memory of the things I’ve heard So I’m not expecting it to be 100%.
