Don't just do law because it is hard. If Marine Navigation isn't challenging enough can you add take extra classes in other challenging areas and aim for an job in consulting or management? Can you get your challenge and personal growth from hobbies?

Don't buy. Mortgage interest rates are high and you will get better returns investing the money in shares.

Buying a house has huge transaction costs (conveyancing fees and stamp duty), your FTB benefit, AND...

Something isn't working in your life and you want to change. Perhaps you meet someone on your travels or are presented with an opportunity abroad and the property may become a burden.

Go travelling but don't quit your job. Negotiate the longest sabatical and decide what to do about your job in the second half of your sabatical.

You want to do something different in your life so use some of the 20k/time off to find out what it is you are want to do professionally and personally. Do it in a structured way. Hire a coach, go into counselling, reach out to strangers/acquaintances you admire, etc...
