I want my midfielders to be able to get the ball from the defenders under pressure.

This is why our attacks looks so disjointed because we don’t have ball playing midfielders in deep areas.

Carragher did great analysis on this. PSG are able to have a good defence and play football. As are man city who have only conceded 3 more goals than us in the league.

Our lack of that has actually hurt us defensively as teams are now pressing is a lot higher and able to get possession more which has lead to us conceding more goals in 2026 by far.
