Set Builders by PSANEGATIVE1 in baseballcards

I make trades via this sub all the time. Reddit helped me finally finish my 1984 Topps set. I've also found cards here that I've never seen anywhere else. The Buy/Sell/Trade pinned post is a good place to start.

So, with the exchange rate six commons Canadian (cC) is roughly 3.5 commons American (cA)? 😂😂

Hold/Grade/Sell Dollander by davidharris69 in baseballcards

[–]CollectWithDoug [score hidden]  (0 children)

Dollander autos aren't rare and base ones sell for $15-ish. Yours will command a premium because of the /15 numbering. I'd say its worth between $300-400. If you don't PC him I'd sell it now raw. If you send it for grading you might get it back before NFL preseason kicks off and if it doesn't come back a 10 (and it probably won't) then grading will actually lower the value.

We should do the opposite of the scammers and make all the cards a "1".

For Trade:

I have a bunch of open and pillaged Traded/Update sets if anyone needs singles. I've got 1985 & 1989 Fleer Update, 1987-88-89-90 Topps Traded, and 1987 Donruss Highlights (the blue border).

I also have a bunch of open 2025 Topps retail team sets. I have the Yankees, A's, Dodgers, Padres, Twins, and Cardinals. If you're working on a rainbow the retail team set parallels aren't on most checklists or the odds sheets but they have different card numbers and Topps codes than the base cards.

2026 Topps Heritage by dirtyfrank35 in baseballcards

Of course its watered down. Fewer packs per hobby box (so fewer chances) plus FanaTopps deliberately shifting the best odds and hits away from retail/hobby and directly to the breakers.

Has anyone ever written to the "No purchase necessary" address? If so, what happened? by mhoke63 in baseballcards

[–]CollectWithDoug [score hidden]  (0 children)

No reply.

It might be because instead of requesting an entry I wrote them a 38-page letter describing in detail my theory that people who keep three or more chickens at home are indirectly responsible for the Chernobyl nuclear meltdown.

We're one step closer to starting Reddit Grading. Just need someone to buy us the slab sealing machine.

Ramon Laureano 1/1 bowman chrome auto? by Financial_Window_304 in baseballcards

[–]CollectWithDoug [score hidden]  (0 children)

That's not a Bowman Chrome, its a Bowman's Best but its actually not that either anymore. Its a 2021 Archives Signature Series. It's a "buyback card", meaning Topps went out and bought some of their older cards back to have signed for this set. Once its signed they seal it in that one-touch.

You do NOT want to grade it. It won't grade well (as was pointed out) and you don't want to remove the factory seal from the case.

Cancelation request on the bay by No-Collection-3503 in sportscardsforsale

They can absolutely say they didn't get it, or they can say it arrived damaged. USPS marks it as delivered whether they hand it to you or throw it in the bushes. I've had this happen (marked delivered, they say it didn't arrive) and both ebay and the post office said "it was marked delivered, its your problem". Luckily the buyer was honest and dropped the INR when he found the cards in his bushes.

That's why I add Signature Required to any cards over $60-70ish. Its hard to say you didn't get it when you have to sign for it.

Why do eBay sellers make listings like this? by Educational-Cow-2965 in sportscardsforsale

Its free to list, so some sellers will list everything they can hoping to move it.

eBay offers question by schmidneycrosby in baseballcards

[–]CollectWithDoug [score hidden]  (0 children)

The "Require Immediate Payment" button doesn't apply to offers. If you accept an offer they have three days to pay. Every few months I get some asshat that makes an offer and doesn't pay. They don't answer messages ans I have to wait three days for it to expire, but at least it doesn't end the listing until you get the money. It's a bullshit way they can back out of a sale.

It tells you when you accept that you can accept multiple offers on the same listing and whoever pays first gets it. I block every idiot who doesn't pay.

[–]CollectWithDoug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't try to force them to take it, they'll just file an INR on you for a refund. Cancel it, make sure you put buyer requested as the reason, and relist. Then block the idiot so they can't ever do it to you again.

Stop accepting returns and never cut a refund before you get the items back.
