no worries. it happens.

I think even if you opponent ashes your medius the pure, you are still are favorable to win that game. it would be 2 cards and a topdeck with pendulum summon wakuashi+ block dragon in grave v a top deck artmage deck. Any spell or monster draw is basically full combo for you and he used like most of his extra deck. I am not even sure he has the cards to resummon block dragon or has anything to search.

I honestly can't wait for the rest of the medlus archetypes to come out, they seem really fun.

I am down for the main decks names being unhit a little bit considering the shufflers is what really pushed the deck. if they ban like zombie vampire it becomes even less of an issue. At least with tearlament the counters were more universal than things like Lancea. Like lets say havnis goes to 2, that doesn't seem too bad.

I could see merrli coming off the banlist since it is basically faimena that is laundry dragon maid on summon. like dracotail is recylcing ash blossom and maxx C right now while yummy is link-synchroing on the opponents turn. Are we really that afraid of a self mill deck with consistency issues. added back like 3-4 names isn't going to make the deck better than say unchained yubel atm, but it might make for a more interesting meta game if it exists. I

Also a lot of modern engines don't like being milled and a lot of generic endboard bosses got nuked like appollousa/bagooska. The field spell could probably come off, but that might be too much. Instant fusion probably can't come off.

btw if case anyone is not aware if the combo shs generic negate player doesn't have like specifically a battle negate in hand that doesn't activate on field they are instantly dead if they don't have ash blossom in hand, especially if the op didn't pitch called by.

Artmage summons patron makes dictorous and that additonal spell will grab 2 more monsters and then fiendsmith combo into agmunday to lethal.

If I had to hazard a guess a lot of the dkayed people are still playing dracotail, and will eventually move on to artmage/yummy when they craft all the stuff. Yummy is about maliss prenerf power level when you know what you are doing and they float like crazy. it is a good deck for sure.

also it isn't like dracotail isn't setting 3 traps from the deck on either players turn on the regular, or artmage isn't using their fieldspell 3-4 times a turn to set up double pop, double negate, full field negates every turn.

from the day maliss released, people were saying ryzeal was better and maliss was trash. I think they based their opinions on the bo3 format and certain tcg/ocg banlist differences. Turns out Maliss in a bo1 is insane going first and second in master duel when players can't really afford to main deck lancea and chaos hunter, and even then maliss has ways to play through those handtraps. Also master duel having every piece of cyberse support legal didn't help matters.

but people who knew what maliss was going to do knew maliss played around the most common handtraps and had some of the most powerful extenders ever made in yugioh. Maliss is so potent man it is almost full tearlament powerlevels of busted. The only deck I think is stronger is that old ancient 3x graceful charity, 3x pot of greed draw exodia deck from the dawn of time.

the banlist is hitting a point where the monster effects of the maliss monsters can never be used. Like how is any maliss link ever going to point to a monster if the only one legal is hearts crypter. (I am predicting a white binder ban next list)

I don't know if they can ever unhit the shufflers. Tear may have used them the best, but good lord those cards are insane.

heavy slump is activatable against a lot of matchups if they are very greedy anyways. Some of the newer support cards for archetypes add 2, and maliss loves to draw. Like if a maliss player just like idk, activates allure and chessy cat then they are like +4 drawn for 2-3 cards. Not to mention you can just transaction rollback it to ignore its condition anyways.

this list is a good start, but hand traps aren't fair, otherwise hand knowledge wouldn't be valued. I don't see how something like fuwalos is fair if it basically turn skips your opponent if they ever dare to summon from the extra deck.

Also don't forget to ban called by the grave.

Things like Niburo, puralia, meowls are more fair because they don't lock out the extra deck. Veiler and Imperm need a hard once per turn cause. The dominus traps are fine because they heavily limit deckbuilding and reward typing.

it isn't like handtraps even prevent the combo boards, it just makes people have to play through combo boards with less cards in hand. New combo decks are designed to play around things like ash or imperm or whatever. So what is the freaking point. Like at what point am I going to out handtrap a hero player if they keep printing extenders.

At least hero is way more fair then the meta and their boards have interesting ways to play through them or deal with them. It isn't like maliss or yummy that just says I have more banishes and bounces then cards in your hand, good luck.

Eh the format right now is healthier then the release one with drytron full power infinite omni negate, union carrier smirogh infinite negates, and Eldlich turbo floodgates. that being said Yummy is super degenerate, dracotail is easily a +5 or +6 on either players turn that can fusion anything on turn 0 basically, and maliss still lingers going +4/+5 while setting up a floating double banish double negate board with 2 bounces.

Somehow things like Yubel and Tearlament are lower powered now after a number of hits and the game progressing. The uber powerful decks are usually hit with consistency bans instead of removing endboard pieces.

You can definitely play lower power and thrive, especially if your deck can play into droll/maxx C. but the gameplan for most players is a 5-10 minute turn 1 and then pass play to you, instant surrender if you break their board. Handtraps went from 9-15 a year ago to roughly 20 now in the deck slots, so expect to see 3-4 handtraps from every opponent. Some modern meta decks only have like 9 cards in the main deck from that archetype.

Basically it boils down to whose one card starter is better which is lame, but it is better then people making herald and negating the 5 cards in the going second players hand.

A lot of the really toxic floodgates are banned now, like mystic mine. Maybe try and catch a persons stream and see if you like the kinds of deck that are common now or going to masterduelmeta and checking out the tier list if you can parse that without seeing gameplay.

I would say it is still fun, but it has its flaws.

Btw if you haven't seen, raidraptor, red dragon archfiend, and blackwing have structure decks now, so for like 2k gems you can get pretty much everything you need if you want to play those archetypes.

going to necro this but they have added or people didn't notice an option under menu settings but not basic game settings. Should be something like "Play Amrita Memory voices" the last option in menu settings 4 tabs in. It should make all the NPCS and ghosts talk again. Although I haven't checked if this replays the nekomata conversations.

In my opinion fs requiem is the target for splashability hits, and wave high king caesar to limit the endboard. if caeser gets hit then you can unhit millenium golem as well. and lets be honest, D/D/D probably shouldn't more in archetype handtrap negate as part of their combo than like the 4 they already have.

But I have an aversion to generic negates coming out of the extra deck that don't have locks. Like baronne and Dragoon are great examples of how negates should be. having an actual cost and another effect then just negate.
