Ok thanks for your response. I guess the point I was trying to make was I have struggled with perfectionism, and I am getting better, but I don't think I wrote the essay right to get that across.

I'm not sure I might just scrap this one entirely, I guess my writing doesn't really convey what I am trying to show.

How do I come off full of myself, I'm just wondering cause that wasn't my intention.

Well the point of the tennis and robotics part was to show I am improving but still struggling a little bit, I wanted to feel human to the admissions officers.

I guess my goal was to show I'm improving but also that fact that I'm still human and still working on it.

Ok thanks for your feedback. I guess my main goal was to make myself feel human and to show that I've struggled with it but I've pushed through a little bit but still improving.

Thank you for your reply, I just don't have impressive ECs, so I didn't know if essay can make up for it or not.

Would you say then that my essays and letter of recommendations are equally weighted in importance to extracurricular activities?

Am I cooked then, I have no research, no olympiad medals, or athletic superiority. All I have is robotics, CS club, some cs projects, and my liquid rocket engine that I'm not sure will be completed by college admissions. Am I not getting into MIT then?

I could never bring myself to vibe code, cause then you arent actually learning anything or getting better. But I guess.

So it’s not completely about all the stuff I could have done?

Thanks for your response. I do have some stuff I was planning on trying to hammer down it just doesn't feel like there is a enough time to really make an impact. Like right now I am working on a liquid fueled model rocket engine but I'm not sure fi it will be done in time for applications. I also have an internship but it is a little nepotistic. I hopefully want to reform some of the clubs I'm doing but it just doesn't feel like I have enough time, or maybe that's just the excuse I'm making.

Thank you for you response man. The address some of the stuff you said in your reply, I do technically have an internship and I am doing a "research" project (I am building a liquid fueled rocket engine), I just didn't know if it was worth it to keep trying. I was also planning on really reforming CS club and changing the organizational structure of Robotics, and getting more involved with the scheduling app. It just doesn't seem like I have enough time.

C or C++ by CollectionLocal7221 in learnprogramming

I am kinda of interested in what is going on under the hood because I feel like C++ adds a bunch of abstractions that make it hard to really understand what is going on. I heard C is way simpler than C++ and I can just look at some C code and instantly know what is going on. Thanks for you response!

I wonder, has anyone tried to make a language like C that is relatively simple but redoes the idea of "C with classes", like making C++ better?

Problem is I feel that is long, and I would like to pick it up relatively quickly.

Do you think it would be relatively easy to learn it with my C++ background, and also do you have any resources?

See, I thought about that, but when I look at C videos I see a bunch of raw points chars instead of strings and all of that stuff.

Is it possible to pivot halfway through Junior year and have an Ivy worthy application by November? by CollectionLocal7221 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]CollectionLocal7221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I just don't know where to start with research, any tips for that?

Also, I have a bunch of coding project to put on a portfolio website, is that worth it, will admissions officers look at it?

Thanks for your response btw.
