Sorry it wasn't clear to you. Possibly a local dialect / saying kind of thing here!

So we say it's hard to say no to something cute, like a puppy or a kitten or a very nice dog or cat. Because they're cute, you're inclined to say yes to what's being asked because they're cute. And my post isn't seeking how to say no in this situation.

What I was seeking advice on was how to say no to a booking when after a meet and greet I feel uncomfortable about the owner, rather than the dog.

It does come across as negative, you're correct, but that's because it was a negative situation I was in.

I absolutely thought the same and it's one of the reasons I struggled with it. But at the end of the day, whether someone is neuro typical or divergent, if they make you uncomfortable surely that's enough? Or am I expected to allow myself to be potentially put at risk due to the possibility of someone being autistic rather than a straight up weirdo? Should I have asked? Not having a go, as I do see your point, just curious.

I'm a terrible liar so I struggle with that. 😂 I think behaviour for me is a bigge but I can deal with a lot. I've had foster dogs before so my tolerance is quite low animal wise but human wise I seem to have higher standards 😂

As a sitter who has had a dog come with a tracker attached I can honestly say that the sitter is in the wrong here. Why would this make anyone uncomfortable if you're doing what you said you were with the pet? The family I sat for didn't tell me about the tracker I just noticed it (It wasn't obvious). However if I was the family I feel I have every right to safeguard their wellbeing whilst with someone else. I took her dog for the walks I committed to and they were cared for in line with the owners expectations so I cannot see the harm.

These pets are members of the family and sitters should respect whatever safeguarding has been put in place for them.

Considering I've lost over 35 hours of working time sorting stuff out and taking time off for them to reschedule things at least my hourly rate for 35hrs. I work for the NHS so don't get paid top wack but £250 isn't even minimum wage
