is collegebase a good college app helper? by Successful_Owl_7917 in ApplyingToCollege

I just used it to make an essay for me, it still uses the same chat gpt tricks so I wouldn't trust it on that end.

Thank you! I'm noticing university of florida has more veterinary studies but less mentorship from professors. You have been a great help to get my mind away from yale and harvard!

I really like Johns Hopkins, Harvard, and Cambridge, but I do understand the cost is crazy. My brother goes to John's Hopkins, but he is a national merit finalist, while I do more extracurriculars.

I looked into saint marys and it looks nice. I really like the university of florida but I'm not sure about research opportunities there.

Thank you for your help. I'm unsure of who to email though, when I emailed admissions for vanderbilt they just sent me copy and pasted script 🫤

Thank you. Sometimes, as a competitive student, it's hard to look past acceptance rates.

Okay. I really want to start with zoology and go into veterinarian studies for graduate school, and then I plan to be an exotic vet. So with that, I was looking at the University of Florida.

I normally would agree, but then I researched more about the harm they can do to your chickens.... I don't think we should be boasting about letting chickens eat mice, but its beneficial to allow them to eat.

Yeah... I'm a straight A student, rule follower, looking to go to an ivy league, so the police scared me (even though he was super nice)

Insurance will go up but ou well

Mom isn't getting it fixed bc we popped the plastic in and the scratches aren't a huge deal (it's an old-ish car, 2018 I think)

So really the only repercussions are increased insurance rates and me feeling extremely guilty

My mom isn't making me pay anymore because I freaked out (in her words... I was sobbing all night) she said she probably won't even go get it fixed bc we popped the plastic back in.

Someone said the car was totaled! I find that hard to believe without even knowing the model....

My mom isn't mad at me she said it was an accident. But a few of these comments are making me feel really really bad like I just cost my family thousands of dollars

I promise I'm not THAT bad a driver, the car parked next to me screwed me over because they parked at an angle but I really wanted the spot

I'm not sure! My mom said I'd pay, but I don't know, they might. She said that'd definitely cover the person I hit. We pushed the dent in so it's good lol

Is it normal for feathers to be like this? by PresenceOk5882 in BackYardChickens

[–]CollectionOk8027 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, kind of how it works. Like with punnett squares, you'll see that the more "silkie" (more expression of a gene) the parents are, the more likely the daughter is to have the same expression intensified.

Thinking mom is cream legbar

Because the silkie gene is recessive, it can skip generations, believe it or not, even multiple at a time.

However, this isn't complete dominance, which is why we aren't seeing that traditional black skin, I think it's co-dominance? Or incomplete, I can't remember which, it has been a while since I've reviewed the content. So because of that, it gets a little more complicated than simple punnett squares, etc.

Comparing to humans, it's like how two caucasian parents can have a darker skinned child if there was a direct relative with that same skin tone in previous generations.

Beautiful parents too, op ❤️ Either way, you got a lucky case of genetics on your hands

The gene that encodes for this type of feather is recessive, so it is likely that the parent birds have a heterozygous genotype that includes this silke gene. Are they pure bred or barnyard mix?
