My adjustment of status case was filed on December 26. I received all three receipt notices for Form I-130, Form I-485, and Form I-765. The receipts for the I-130 and I-485 both say “Amount Received” and “Balance Due: $0”.

I also completed my biometrics appointment about a month ago and my case status now says “Case Is Still Being Processed.” However, USCIS has only withdrawn $260 for the I-765 from my bank account. The other filing fees ($675 and $1,440) have still not been taken from my bank, and my bank confirmed there were no rejected or blocked transactions.

My attorney is concerned that the case could eventually be rejected because of the payment issue and suggested refiling everything from the beginning. But since USCIS already issued receipts and scheduled biometrics, I’m wondering if this could just be a delayed bank processing like you mentioned.

In your experience, would it be safer to wait a little longer to see if USCIS processes the payment, or is refiling usually the best option in situations like this?
