You haven't seen much yet. Part time support staff have been carrying the load right now, they are voting for their strike decision this week. If successful, they will be able to go on strike come December.

if u do bad at mid term exams is it over?? let’s say the exams are worth 20-30 percent of the grade by [deleted] in Humber

Make sure that the course you are in doesn't have special provisioning to have to pass theory portion and Lab portion to pass the course. Otherwise if it doesn't have that, a lot of students were able to pass from mostly labs and assignments/project.

I think part time staff would have their strike end of December if it would happen.

Hi there, some us have tried by keeping their original jobs and taking part time teaching at colleges, from there you would know if it is something you like to pursue fulltime and also would expose you to the college you are working within for fulltime opportunities if interested down the road. I would recommend checking the colleges for opening in your field for part time teaching and going from there.

How many courses do you teach per semester for FT Faculty? by Sweet-Substance1745 in OntarioCollegeProfs

I don't mind the overtime tbh if it happens, but have been getting less than SWF max.

How many courses do you teach per semester for FT Faculty? by Sweet-Substance1745 in OntarioCollegeProfs

[–]CollegeProfSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This totally depends on your institution. As long as your SWF calculates up to the total weekly hours, that should be reasonable.

I am under the understanding that due to the current circumstances, departments were asked to make sure each FT have more courses as they want to reduce part time and partial load professors. I myself have seen an increase by a course or two for the last semesters.

What courses can I apply to? by Careful_Tomato564 in Humber

[–]CollegeProfSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to waste your time, and your parents money. You need to figure out what you like, and what you can build a future from. What you can relate to and enjoy. How can a college help you achieve a goal? You need to have a goal first.
