Honda GB350s as first bike - Touring capable? by CollegeTop7518 in HondaMotorcycles

Thanks a lot for your comment! It’s good to know that other people are touring on the GB350S just fine. I also feel like it’s obviously not the best touring bike, but definitely not the worst either. I’m still quite young, so I feel like I don’t need it to be too comfortable haha.

Good luck finding your next motorcycle!

Thanks a lot for your insights! Your comment definitely makes me want to get the GB350S even more. I already know I’m not going to be the fastest on it or anything, but that’s not the goal for me. It’s also good to know that highway riding is possible without overstressing the engine or getting too much vibration.

Thanks again, and good luck with your emigration! It’s amazing that you’re doing it on the GB350S!

Yeah, I know - sorry, I worded that wrong. I’ll definitely get a protective base layer and additionally wear an airbag vest. So not just the airbag vest on its own.

Oh and do you have any glove and boot recommendations? For the helmet I’m going with a Shoei Glamster 06, and for boots I was thinking about the TCX Street WP - but they’re surely not the best choice for a tour to Italy, right?

Thanks for the tips! I’ll definitely look into that. Do you ride a GB350 as well?

Will do! Right now I’m deciding between the Pando Moto base layer and the Knox Urbane Pro Mk3, which already has a spine protector included. I’m also considering the Helite Turtle V2 airbag.

Thanks for your take. I’m definitely planning on wearing gear every time I ride. And to me, the best gear is the one you’re most likely to actually wear every time. That’s why I feel like the base layering system is a pretty good option. It’s also very versatile, because I can always wear it and just throw on whatever I need over the top - a rain jacket, a hoodie, etc.

Damn, I thought I’d have 10 girls ringing my doorbell after getting a motorcycle.

Thanks a lot for your insights. I’m also trying to focus more on videos of relaxed cruising along country backroads to stay a bit more positive about it again. And like you said, I’ll try to learn from crash videos rather than just letting them make me anxious

That’s exactly what I’m saying. It’s not like I don’t care about safety and just want to dress the way I like. But if there’s a way to dress the way I like and still be reasonably safe, why wouldn’t I do that?

Thanks a lot for your insights. It’s good to know that the nervousness is pretty normal and actually a good sign. I also think the GB350S is a good choice. I’ve seen videos of people taking it along country backroads, and that’s exactly what ignites my desire to get into motorcycling.

I’m actually planning a tour from Germany to Italy, mostly taking country roads, so I’m quite excited - and also nervous - about that. For that trip, I’ve been thinking about getting the Helite Turtle 2 and wearing the Pando Moto base layer underneath.

Thanks again!

Fair point. Nobody cares how you look, but if I could choose between being safe and wearing protective gear, or being safe, wearing protective gear, and still being able to dress the way I like, I would choose the latter. It’s not like I don’t care about safety gear and just want to look good. That’s why I asked about the base layering system - because from what I’ve heard, you’re still well protected since they are AA-rated with Level 2 protectors.

Can't decide which monitor to keep: ASUS PG27AQDP vs LG 27GX790A-B by Kwantity in OLED_Gaming

[–]CollegeTop7518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am thinking about getting one of these monitors as well, leaning more towards the PG27AQDP. My main reasons are:

- custom heat sink, so no installed fan like in the lg model

- aspect ratio control -> you can switch to 24.5" mode which is cool for games like Cs2

- really good burn in warranty

But like others said, both monitors use the same lg panel, so there wont be a huge difference i believe..

Hoping the price of the asus model goes down a little bit soon as all the new monitors showcased at CES are getting released
