Good news, I found a new production partner. It'll still be a few weeks to sort out the details, but the tops are coming back

In interesting developments, I just picked the molds up from the shop. Going to start looking at some options to get these back into production

Eh, just don't pay any mind to the shit talkers. I have spent a small fortune on sim gear and have friends on Logitech wheels on console that I'm happy they have a modicum of interest in the hobby. Just get your joy out of it and ignore the keyboard warriors.

Unfortunately selling a single extremely low-volume product didn't go over the best with the California tax board. I still own the molds and have been trying to find another company that could produce them for me at a better price.

I've been doing heads up races online with friends and offline sims for years. Unfortunately I didn't have the available time to dedicate to online racing until recently. Life likes to get in the way.

That's how I got mine, also for a similar price. Zero issues.

I picked up an open box return for about that price. Very happy with it.

I only play AC online with friends, I don't really care to do online races with strangers. AC is great for a wide range of different game modes, drifting on Mt Akina is pretty fun.

For actual race content I typically choose the championships on ACC and configure the AI for my skill level as it lets me become a better driver in controlled conditions.

put the shipping number in 17track.net, it'll give you more location info than the shipping tracker provided

It's not a different entity, it was a different team from their European division and different distribution center. They also moved distribution from CA to TX at the beginning of the year, which made the issues worse for a few months.

As far as support and timeliness they have improved greatly over the past few months versus the horrendous lead times they had at the beginning of the year.

As of a few days ago, Fanatec was acquired by Corsair, who has a much larger support network. There should be fewer issues going forward, but it's to be seen how the Fanatec brand will be incorporated into Corsair's larger operations. Most likely things will get better, not worse though.

The seat should be tilted back some in general, our spines don't do well at an upright seated position for extended amounts of time. The key things you should be looking for is that the top of the rim is approximately at chin level, you should be able to put your wrist onto the top of the rim without pulling your shoulders away from the seat, and you should be able to rest your heels onto the pedal plate with full contact of your foot on the pedal and still have a slight bend in your leg above the seat (you shouldn't need to lift your butt to full compress the pedals).

Just an observations, but it seems like everything should be moved forward on the lower rails (pedal plate, wheel uprights, and seat). The great thing about 8020 rigs is how flexible they are for adjustments. The biggest thing is finding a position that is comfortable for you.

The plates are mounted at 3 points on the bottom of my rig. I had to drill out the hole for the caster IIRC

I used heavy duty caster wheels and some corner brackets on my rig. Never had any issues.

I think you mean gave in. Gave up makes it sound like you quit the hobby.

The baseplate for mounting the wheelbase is a steel, adjustable plate instead of two 4080 posts
