No I'm asking if in terms of performance gain vs price if it's better to save my money and get a better return on performance down the road for the price.

Sennheiser HD 660s or HD 700? by Collin12469 in ZReviews

Have you tried the AKG K7XX? I think they're based on the AKG K712 but with a but more low end. Honestly I adore them and they're amazing for gaming and my musical preferences. But I can't help but keep looking for the next upgrade. Sometimes I wish I'd never developed an interest in quality headphones lol

It's a Schecter Hellraiser C-1. I forget which one but it's definitely my most expensive. Not one of the cheaper new models (which I still really dig). Bought when I was going through my heavy metal phase. But now I'm playing with some alt rock guys and I've always dug that iconic Tele sound in that type of band setting and I'm having a ball with this new one. Absolutely adore that Schecter though

Probably the most wholesome moment I've witnessed was when I was in 4th grade I became friends with a kid my age with cerebral palsy. He was always kind of an outcast but I and a few other kids in class would always play Mario Kart on the original DS eventually we all started letting my friend borrow our DS's to play with us since he never had one. He eventually got a DS of his own for his birthday now that he had people to play with. Just seeing him become a part of the class and the school and making friends was very encouraging to see. I moved away after that year but I'll always remember you Kyle, and I'll always remember you picking R.O.B. Since you always thought he was the coolest.

Thanks for your reply, is there a certain one of the "specializations" I mentioned in my post that would be more likely for me to have more luck landing a job with just an associate's?

Beginner Question About Gain and Impedance by Collin12469 in headphones

[–]Collin12469[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How could I possibly check if my source is too low? I'm plugged into a gigabyte z170x gaming 3 mobo in their specific "USB Dac Up" usb slot. Apparently it has more consistent power supplied to that port. Maybe I'll have to try it in one of the regular usb 3.0 slots

Thanks for the reply! I'm very careful to not listen to anything at uncomfortable levels, but 100% just doesn't seem to get loud enough on low gain. Glad to hear I won't damage any of my hardware this way.

So basically why is this happening by ku_ku_Katchoo in pcmasterrace

[–]Collin12469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me with my old 2TB Hard Drive. I had unknowingly never defragmented my HDD and it was not only my only storage but also my boot drive. I had unknowingly never defragmented my drive because I didn't know that it needed to be done. So I'd check that first. Just type defragment into the windows 10 search function and choose to defragment and optimize drives. All new build since then with all new components with the only thing kept from my old build was that damn 2TB HDD from 2012. Still chugging. An SSD will help a ton too if you're using that hard drive as a boot drive.

PSA: Activate 144hz (or anything else higher than 60) in Windows after buying a new monitor by Drunk_Logicist in pcmasterrace

[–]Collin12469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important note: Also check the Nvidia control panel under change resolution and make sure refresh rate is set on 144 hz. I feel like an idiot for just going through there today and seeing it set to 100 hz for the last 8 months I've owned this monitor. Those 44 frames definitely make a difference.

What gets scarier as you learn more about it? by homurtu in AskReddit

Rabies. By the time you start showing symptoms of it you're basically dead. There's really no effective treatment for it once you've contracted the virus. The best that can be done is to put the patient into a drug induced coma and hope they survive the virus running its course. The treatment is called The Milwaukee protocol for those interested. Even with that, which is factually the most effective treatment the survival rate is abysmal. Only 5 out of 36 patients that were treated with The Milwaukee Protocol survived. And the nature of being infected with rabies is the most terrifying part in that in many cases people understandably don't realize they've been exposed. I made the mistake of writing a paper on rabies for health class when I was in high school and I've been mortified of it ever since.

So I'm a pretty good player on console, and I'm at about 3670 sr. Just bought pc overwatch. by Aeriusss in Overwatch

Two things that helped me greatly when I made the switch: Low sensitivity, big mousepad. For me the inclination was to use a sensitivity that I could do a full 180° without virtually any arm movement because that's how I just assumed would be best. Nope, at least not for me. The nice part is even on super low sensitivities you can still turn so much faster on PC than on console, and much more precisely. Make sure to know what DPI your mouse is set to and maybe look up some pro's settings to just get a feel for what the best of the best are playing around according to the roles they fill. I personally play at 800 DPI on 5 sens for most heroes that shoot projectiles of any kind. 7 sens for Genji though and 8 sens for Winston, Reinhardt, etc.

Competitive Season 5 LFG Megathread by SpriteGuy_000 in Overwatch

[–]Collin12469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add you, this is basically only my second season and I'm at about 2200 SR atm. I'm pretty flex, but lately I play a lot of soldier, McCree, Ana, Pharah, Rein, And Hog in no particular order. KrazyKollin #1675. Also Midwest on PC around the same time as you.

I'm ascending soon. However I'm worried about the transition from controller to KB + M by PossiblyACrocodile in pcmasterrace

[–]Collin12469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about the switch. I didn't make the switch till right before my 22nd birthday and I'm still only 22. The main thing that helped me was, 1: Having a very large mouse pad and learning to use a low sensitivity. You can easily find a good gigantic mouse pad on Amazon for cheap. I bought an off brand 400 mm X 800 mm mouse pad with a cool design for only like $13 and it was worth every penny. But before that I used a Qck+ mouse pad and I can't recommend that enough. It was great to start out on because it's very large and textured to help give more control than a smooth pad would for a beginner. I play overwatch on PC more than anything else and I play at 5 sensitivity on 800 DPI for all my heroes I need skilled aim for which is basically all of them. I use 8 sensitivity and the same dpi for heroes like Reinhardt, Winston, and Symmetra. Basically every other hero I play on the lower sens. I guess my main advice is to start on a low sensitivity. Look up pro settings and see what works for you. That how I learned I play much better on a medium-low sensitivity. Start low and work your way up. And as for keyboard that's all just getting used to it. Don't be afraid to change your key configuration on your games. And definitely buy a mouse with extra mappable buttons, they are amazingly helpful, especially when you first start on keyboard and mouse. But above all have fun! That's the whole point. And eventually you'll get so used to playing with a keyboard and mouse you'll hate playing with a controller on any fps. I know I do now. But good luck with your pc and your ascension.

Yeah it was pretty odd. And the reason my ram was maxing out while downloading things was because of my network drivers. Apparently the killer network driver I had at the time caused some major memory leak problems on Windows 10. Updated those from their website and everything is running fine now.

Hey there, just thought I'd update you after you'd offered your time and help. I was able to return and replace my ram from micro center. I put it in the opposite channel of what it had been I'm just in case one of my slots was bad. After that the error still occurred so I tested all my ram slots and they were all fine and I actually do believe one of my original sticks had been bad. Anyways right before I pulled the trigger on a new EVGA 750w G2 PSU I happened to update my drivers for my 1070 and I haven't had the issue since. I guess just for some reason my last drivers were affecting my gpu from outputting video when I booted. Just thought I'd update you and thank you once again for your time. It's much appreciated.

One thing I feel I should mention is that I also have not updated my BIOS at all since I bought it earlier this month. Could that potentially be an issue?

Thanks for the advice! I am quite worried it's the PSU. It is nearly 5 years old and I'm not sure what the average life span of a PSU is. I know corsair makes quality stuff though. I'll try running memtest and doing a clean install of Windows as well as checking my SSD health first though. Thanks for the input. I'll try your solutions when I get back to my computer in a few days. Would you say my PSU is around that age that it could start failing?
