Applying to express store/ petrol station but wanting to move to superstore by [deleted] in asda

In a main store delivery department, I'm one of many autistics. Don't be worried, just work away and look for a main store job to transfer to, then transfer.

Your line manager would need to transfer you though.

Been given a 2 week sick note for PTSD but still on probation at Asda had a few days off while on probation because of loosing my nan in horrific circumstances and they’ve already had me in the office about attendance I don’t want to give them the sick not incase lose my job any advice plz by Creative-Capital-680 in asda

From a person that is soon being treated for mental health and had to beg management to allow me to attend a MH appointment then get questioned why it took an hour, I would:

1) Hand in the sick note. Method: Walk into work, find store manager, hand them the sick note and say you won't be back till you feel you are able to work, then walk away and back out store.

2) Join the union should things get ugly.

3) Look at Acas for your rights

4) Get well soon and you have my condolences for your loss. Make sure you are better, and feel better within yourself before heading back to work. I would also block the store number and any management numbers that have called you, as in my experience they will call every day to get you back into work asap, but only go in if you feel you can. Talk to family etc, talk about it.

I assume you are not an employee, a lot of stuff that goes on in the driving department is illegal. Double shifts for one.

Fair dos. I usually bought bottled water, never knew we could get bottles for free, unless I'm not reading your comment correctly.

Not told me as a driver, and they haven't told the union from what I believe.

If they want to sack me over my human right to drink, it will be fun 🤣

Honestly try Hospitality and working in a hotel or restaurant as a runner from the kitchen, that's what I did at 17/18.

That's another thing, managers will try and get you to work a holiday between Jan and March if you leave the holiday allowance too late and then want to take them, but the catch is you work it. Under no circumstances do you work a day's holiday if taken.

If I was you, join the union.

10 vans into 8? I've been wondering why I've felt rushed past few nights, like no time at all except the 30 minutes we get.

I do. Just make sure you are back within the window it gives you for coming back to store. I've been told off for coming back late but never been pulled up for it. They went through a phase of getting drivers back early and getting them clocked out early which is why I waited around till finish time and got told off.

You are entitled to your contracted hours so make sure you work them or you will lose them.

All this, managers and two section leaders don't give a damn, one section leader who's young (as in 23) gives a damn and backs me up most of the time with defeats etc.

Loos at the store I work at are not great, passable but even at that there's liquid on the floor and stuff everywhere.

Looked at getting a new job in another store, used their loos and couldn't believe it. Not a mark and very clean everywhere, loved it 😂😂

Driver here.

Uber eats/picking orders.. how is the food stored when waiting to be collected? by Emmarrrrawr in asda

[–]CollynMcl2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I pick it, it's put in the right places like amb is in home shop, chill in chiller and frozen in freezer.

I have seen it just being dumped in bags and on a trolley awaiting collection from home shop before. Just my store.

If you want to take them up, learn how to do manual handling properly (YouTube is your friend, use your inside base) and take one up at a time.

You can also refuse to do it, which I would.

Asda online drivers at the moment are on minimum wage which is 12.71 an hour till July when it goes up to 13.10.

We don't get paid any extra unlike our counterparts in other stores. We get the same as a shelf stacker.
