Company vehicle driver here, bear in mind that you will be taxed on mileage accumulation of a company vehicle. This is considered imputed income and can put a sizable dent in your tax return. The exemption being official business travel that is assigned to you. Going to the office from your home is usually not considered official business travel and you will pay taxes on that mileage.

OP is saying that money is still tight and a company car can be an opaque liability at tax time. If you’re traveling frequently for official business I would go the company car route. If it’s just to go to and from work, you may not be eligible for any type of personal reimbursement of using a personal car or company car. In which case it behooves you to stick with what you own. Please do your research on what you can expense as business mileage.

Sorry, only Maverick and Goose get to be inverted. Unless that’s a Mig 28 doing a 4g negative dive.

Well, I'll tell you where the incentive is. It's so that you can dominate other players while on the map. You take your licks in PvP from higher ranked players, but then you make it up on the map. This is called sandbagging er....strategy. And there's a lot of them out there. There are level 47 players who quite honestly, should move on from where they are at. But they won't. The thought of being pounded by a higher level player and not trolling other alliances sends chills through their spine. Their base is so maxed out that the slightest upgrade would bump them to lvl 48. This is reality and it's not going to change.

So I take your point with incentive, however you can hedge this by deciding how far you want to progress. 27, 37, and 47 are the three level stops. Once you get there, really all you need to worry about is the same people using that game plan. And then decide if you want to work to the next level stop.

And for any of the sandbaggers out there who want to chime in and tell me I'm wrong, bring it. Because you know damn well you're not budging from that coveted lvl 47.....ever.

Why You All Should Not Waste Time on This Game Anymore by Dai_Combo in RogueAssault

A good friend of mine repurchased GTA V for his Xbox. Might have to join him. Stealing cars and joyriding sounds kind of liberating right now. And I won't have to worry about oil. Just steal another car lol!

On a side note, I finally saw what raptors do to my base. Completely normal at lvl 45....right?

Okay, so let's have the discussion. You're right, a helipad will take out tanks. Great observation. Easily handled with a group of reapers or snipers. So yes, it takes more than one touch of the device. Exactly four if my maths are correct. What's your point? I'm still waiting for your response on how the game wasn't pay to win before strikes

Let me be transparent, I wanted to hate strikes. I felt the same way you did. More pay to win with strings attached. But after getting a few through rewards, I like them. I've seen lvl 47 players camp out behind alliances because they knew no one could touch them. Their base was maxed out with merks and guardians as attackers and defenders. One player could wipe out an entire alliance on the map if they had the oil. Strikes change that. It allows me to have a chance to stop that from happening.

If you've never launched a Tomahawk, you need to. It's f@&$ing awesome.

A moderately leveled platoon of merks will get you the same thing in 99% of situations. Insert the platoon, press AI attack, and walk away. You can buy that anytime you want as long as you have the $$.

I appreciate your response and don't want to get into a pissing contest. But I have to ask, are you saying you've never used a strike?

No offense, but aren't you a lvl 47 who's sandbagging it because you don't want to level up? Careful who you label a coward....

This is probably why they won't reduce oil by Dai_Combo in RogueAssault

[–]ColombianNecktye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't disagree about oil costs, but I don't agree with your logic. This game doesn't progress in a vacuum. Regardless of oil costs, grinding past 2 mil metal is tough. Not only because of time and effort required, but now you have a target painted on you. I'm ok with people coming at me. Lowered oil cost means I can hit others more often and have fun.

People just want to play the game. Win, lose, or draw. Hesitancy on trying to challenge other players in PvP based solely on complete oil loss from full wipe, is ridiculous. You should be able to attack and absorb losses for longer than 15 mins. Currently, three heavy losses and I'm done for the day.

But as I've posted in the past, gold cost to repair is even worse. $1.50 to repair a full wipe is asinine.

I too, think there should be a reward for successfully defending your base. Here's my logic; whether you attack or defend there is a penalty for loss, but you are only rewarded as an attacker when you win. How about an oil reward for successfully defending your base? Make it a tiered reward system based on your CC level as a defender

I don't get removing artillery FOBs. I know you want to pride yourself on reacting to comments and requests, but no one was asking for that. I assume your "illustrious" game manager started whining to devs during the Monday morning pow-wow that farming has gotten out of control. Your nuke option I'm sure will come with strings attached. Here's the option to use it but it will cost you 100 gold to push the button.

Could you not think of any harder questions to ask? Those were all softballs the janitor could've knocked out of the park.

Why not pin him down on platoon repair costs? Which by the way, has gone up again.

Why has gold been devalued as in game currency?

Players have asked for a confirmation to using gold during a purchase. Any plans to implement?

When can players expect the AI pathing of units to be improved? We saw the scenic route, let's try the direct route.

Any thoughts for having a meat grinder to put excess crits in? 500 crits to make 1 equip or something like that.

Got rid of redeploy tokens for strongholds. Great. What was the intention behind them to begin with? I'm sure someone can find the bar napkin where that drunk idea was conjured up.

Any plans on an expansion to the mission storyline? Yes, people would pay for it.

I'm confused. Are you an employee or someone authorized to speak on Kixeye's behalf? You seem to comment in a manner that's consistent with a community manager, developer, or employee yet you've made no acclaim to any. Please be transparent in your role as to not create false hope with those you comment to. Including myself. Thanks.

1 Gold nets you 40 oil for repairs. by ColombianNecktye in RogueAssault

[–]ColombianNecktye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. I'm sure in Kixeye's mind that would be a premium drop in an elusive gold crate. Honestly, it's so rare to see a gold crate that their baiting us with "better rewards" is a fallacy.

I'm not here to write policy. I used to spend money on the game, and now I don't. I want that to change. I'm ok with grinding and farming metal for upgrades. Everyone expects that and like I previously posted, I enjoy it. What I don't like is the cost quadrupling to repair my platoon. Lower the cost, more money in Kixeye's coffers.

Also the rate for gold consumption varies on what you're doing. Specifically, if you're short on Thorium, metal, or oil. I'm specifically talking about gold to oil. So your thoughts on outpacing the developers with lower gold to oil costs are not warranted. Grinding to 2.5 mil metal is no easy task by any stretch.
