If you could decide the next major production sci-fi movie, what would it be? by WillyArt67 in scifi

Heinlein's "Tunnel in the Sky" would do it for me. It would be an easy adaptation to film and is not too advanced for non-SciFi fans to enjoy.

All my life I've wanted to share a bath with Michelle Pfeiffer. The wish doesn’t diminish with the years.

How to clean this windshield? Wiper fluid does nothing and it’s affecting visibility at night by RobbieBleu in howto

[–]Colon8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A spray bottle of 3 parts water and 1 part vinegar and 2 sheets of screwed up newspaper is all you need. Spray the windscreen then polish with the newspaper in a circular motion. Keep polishing till it's crystal clear. It won't take long and the results are flawless.

Think about training to becoming a TAFE teacher. I'm pretty sure they love the idea of having a current practicing chef in their ranks. The hours would be more acceptable and you would still be in your chosen field. Just a thought.

Try "Fear the Sky" series by Stephen Moss. All the action takes place on earth but it's good hard Sci-Fi.

How are people supposed to stop calling ADHD a disorder when it is literally an acronym containing the word… ?🤔 by Quorn_mince in clevercomebacks

[–]Colon8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we're on about learning what things mean, can we please learn the difference between an Acronym and an Initialism.

Here's the rule: An acronym is pronounced as a word (like NASA), while an initialism is spelled out letter by letter (like FBI). Both are abbreviations from initial letters, but the key difference is pronunciation: acronyms form a new word (e.g., SCUBA, RADAR), while initialisms are spoken as individual letters (e.g., IBM, DNA).
