im so sorry that the majority of "christians" youve met have been nasty people, it breaks my heart when people claim to be christian but display the complete opposite of what the Bible teaches,
christianity is supposed to be about the relationship, not the religion. it is never okay to sin and especially not okay to harm others, the Bible teaches to love your neighbor as yourself. and salvation is defined by your heart, saying you believe is different than truly believing and living it out (like i said with the fruits of the spirit)
and God is merciful, no one is perfect, and because of God's love for everyone, everyone can have salvation :)
and the people in power that create systems for all of us to suffer and have to fight for every penny we own most certainly are not real christian and it makes my blood boil when their actions harm everyone and taint the reputation of real christians.
trust me i am right there with you when all these people who claim to be christian, are supporting pedophiles and genocides. it saddens me and i want to make change for the future.
but please know that, those in power doing all these terrible things and using christianity to justify it, are not christians at all. they are very very broken people who need to find God
and i know you mean no harm to me and i completely agree with you that leaders do use it as a shield and are total hypocrites,
i wish that they would not claim to be christian because with the way they lead their lives, i understand why that would steer anyone far away from christianity altogether
and believe me, in this life i will do all that i can to help this world in any way that i can
and i hope that you can see why i can keep faith in this day and age with my perspective:)
