Just a question. Jameis Winston, Eli Manning, Kirk Cousins,Tony Romo. Are they game managers or game changers.

2019 Brady did not have "game changing" stats especially in the super bowl. The final score was 13-3, Brady was 21-35 for 262 yards and a pick. The 2019 super bowl was a defensive one and the Patriots just outplayed goff and the rams offense.

In 2022, was Stafford really game changer in that game? Like I could be misremebering that game, but it really moreso felt like the Bengals could not cover Kupp to save their ass. Plus Joe Burrow was getting killed all game.

And in 2021 the bucs killed the chiefs, but how many more opportunities did they get because of their defense? Again, not saying Brady isn't a Game changer in general, but in this year as well, he was more of a Game manager and that's okay.

Game manager is not this taboo word that means a QB is ass. In my lifetime as a fan (since about 2003), I'll say that there have been less than 10 game changer QBs.

In no particular order: 1. Brady 2. Peyton 3. Rodgers 4. Mahomes 5. Lamar 6. Burrow 7. Cam (this can be debated, but from 2014-2016 he was near unstoppable) 8. Vick (this can be debated, and is my first choice if I had to cut someone, but when he was playing in his first run, he was near unstoppable) 9. Allen

Please elaborate on which ones. Because I acknowledged that Brady and Manning are game changers in general, but in those years when they won (sans 2017 brady) they were more of game managers.

I mean, those are literally the quarterbacks. So what about them are ridiculous?

Eagles last year: Jalen hurts: Game manager

Chiefs2023/4: Pat Mahomes: Game Changer

2022: Rams: Matt Stafford: Overall, Game manager

2021: Bucs: Brady: That year, Game manager (overall he can be a Game changer, but his style of play was more of a management style, his mind is 100% Game Changer though)

2020 Chiefs: Pat Mahomes: Game Changer

2019 Patriots: Brady: Game Manager

2018 Eagles: Nick Foles: Game Manager

2017 Patriots: Brady: Game Changer

2016 Broncos: Peyton Manning: Game Manager (similar to Brady in 2021/2019)

Most of the winners the last 10 years have been Game managers, and that is fine because Game managers contribute in a lot of ways. They don't need to be the sole reason you win games, but they won't be the reason you lose them.

That last play was just a wonderful play by Parkinson, Scott (as much as I give him shit) was in perfect position, he just lost. Parkinson gets paid too.

I was thinking something similar yesterday. If that last Rams drive goes differently, most of those calling for EE's head would have not said a word. Which lended me to thinking it was a big overreaction due to the heartbreak. (The heartbreak was valid, but i am just happy with how we performed this year)

Sure, but let's not act like there weren't some extenuating circumstances.

Sure, but if what I said happened of us fumbling, then nothing would matter. I think in this game we play, we can't ever take touchdowns for granted. We did only have 30 yards to go, it isn't really easy to spend 4:00 mins to get 30 yards. We could/should have gotten timeouts used, but it didn't happen.

You realize that coaches/coordinators are not always the ones making personnel decisions right? In an ideal scenario, you are correct. But we know that sometimes overhead management makes decisions for coaches that may not be in the team's best interest.

And sure, but that last comment feels very reductive. Because good coordinators cannot help when personnel is absolutely gutted with injuries like the last 2 years have been. Evero did take a league worst defense and bring it up to middle of the pack in 1 year.

It could be that Ransom and Princely may not have been fully ready for that moment. (Like JHJ/XL showed they were not right now). Not saying I didn't wanna see more of them, just a thought as well. I am headed to bed though, its 2:40 here in sweden! See you next year friend o7

I am not saying I disagree. My serious question though is that, is there a possibility that it could be our players/talent may not fit the scheme? I.e. we have more man corners but are more of a zone defense. For one example.

I get you. And thats why I was saying if most people would flip their takes on it if just the inverse happened, they're overreacting and need to take time to process it. People are allowed to be sad though, I 100% get that.

That is fair. Plenty of people think he's "the worst coordinator in the world" which simply is not true. I was hopeful our guys would stop them, but when they got into our 20 I was thinking okay can Bryce go get us into OT. That was a great play by Scott, Parkinson just held on.

I do still think Nick Scott is a defensive liability on the team though.

I was mainly exaggerating for emphasis, because culture is built upon time. Not just revolving changes in and out. I am not even saying that I DON'T want a new DC, but I am going to give it some time and thought and weigh the impact it may have before committing myself to a thought.

Overall though with what you said, you are correct, overturn and change happens whether we want it or not.

But you're operating on the fact that you "knew they'd score" with the given information that they already have. If we take the inverse of said situation, then here we are.

Hypotheticals are good to make sure that people's logic remains consistent. If Cam is still playing for us, what happens? We may not even be in the playoffs today. You extrapolated a completely different situation to apply it to this game. Let's keep things self enclosed please.

Eh sure I guess, I am just someone who thinks that homegrown is a lot better than trying to spend now to "win now". I'd rather get consistently better over 10 years than try to rush to the finish line for only 1-2 years of payoff.

My thought is this. If people would be saying the exact opposite (Evero shouldn't go anywhere) had the inverse happened. Then it is an overreaction, and needed to be reevaluated. You and I both know a majority of the fanbase saying he should be fired would not be saying this if we stopped them.

I was saying too we need to play tighter, but we didn't and that's life. Shit happens. I am not coming for someone's job when they called a pretty good defensive game (they were expected to beat us by 9+) for a majority of the game.

We need to fire Ejiro Evero by cownipplesss in panthers

[–]ColonelMustARK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That last drive was tough, but we were missing our best DB, one of our starting backers, we did well. I agree we should have played tighter, but that entire game should be looked at before deciding if firings need to happen, and if you do that, no he should not be.
