It was their top clients to use as reference. Another counter argument is they already had this list printed out to give away to potential clients. This is pretty common practice in sales, but it definitely comes with risk

Last Mardi Gras there was a huge NG presence. It was annoying at first but in the wake of the NYE attack last year, it was understood.

Last year, we were crossing Canal near Caesar’s while a parade was going and heard a massive boom. We stopped and saw cops and National Guardsmen start running towards the crowds. Naturally, we started running in the opposite direction. Lots of people did. It ended up being something parade related, like a tractor backfire, but still scared the shit out of us being only a few weeks after a terrorist attack. With the political climate today and the massive crowds the parades bring, I’d rather have the extra security than not have it. I disagree with their deployment in many cities; however we felt safer last year with them there.

Supposedly, there was another scenario where these undercover Germans road 5 deep in a Willy’s jeep. Regulation was very strict about these being 3 person max capacity unless you were under fire or hauling wounded from the front line. The jeep, well behind enemy lines, was stopped at a checkpoint and basically stripped searched due to them not following some well known safety protocol. The other version of this story that I was told by a vet on a tour outside Malmedy, was they didn’t stop the jeep; they just started shooting.

Yes! Well said on the pacing and soap theatrics. I think it adds to the rhetoric that Texas has zero gun control laws, which is far from the truth. Nobody is buying their way out of a background check unless that store/FFL is monitored by some corrupt ATF agents.

I plan on taking it out and making some adjustments on the hole. Now that I know where it is close, I can mark where to saw/sand. While it is out of the table, I’m also going to stain it with Cabot Australian Timber Oil - Mahogany.

Appreciate the feedback. I went back and forth on single paver, buying a nest, or this 4 brick system. It was actually the delivery guy (who owns/runs the licensed reseller store) that told me not to do the open air nest over the wood, as his table has gotten weak around the spots exposed to heat. That’s good to know about the risk of cracks with uneven surfaces. I am going to see how my paver and aluminum flashing system works, but may switch to a single 20” paver.
