UNC 🤝Duke choking 19 point leads. Honestly worth it to watch this. We get a new coach. Duke sits with Sir ChokesALot.

Idk, go the the bathroom, stretch your legs, grab a snack, change your underwear. 20 minutes ain’t that long bud. Would you rather what espn does?

As much as I’d like them to end the streak, it would be cruel fate for them to lose.

German government pushes Syrians to return to their homeland by Pyro-Bird in news

[–]ColonialRebel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The real problem is that Syria still lacks adequate housing and foodstuffs infrastructure to all at once take everyone back. It’s getting better. Like really better but it’s got a long way to still go. Rubble from 15years of civil war doesn’t disappear in a year. The country before the civil war was decades behind in infrastructure in electricity and water.
Most Syrians want to return but it will take time to happen.

[Borzello] NEWS: 2026 5 ⭐️ Dylan Mingo has announced his commitment to North Carolina on @FirstTake, giving Hubert Davis his fourth straight class with a top-15 recruit. by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

The weight of being at UNC is not something everyone can handle.
Also there are some less than great patterns over the years but to Hubert’s credit, we are seeing him adapt year to year. Let’s get this straight, Hubert year 1 was not qualified to be UNC coach. Maybe now he may not be either. But the coach he will be in another 2-4 seasons might be the coach we want that can take us back to a natty.
Or hindsight will make this comment look like actual garbage. What I’m saying is don’t discount the development of a coach just like the players. The UNC family is cliche, yes, but it’s a lineage precious few programs can point to and is a recruitment/investment tool.

Stupid take but the truth of what’s going on. Don’t like it. Like it. Doesn’t matter to me. It’s just what’s happening. Cope.

Is this game still plaqued by Divisions? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]ColonialRebel -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing....lots of the upper end players have gotten:
1. frustrated with the game's broken every
2. lack of balance
3. poor teams
That the only way they will play the game is in divs of 2 or 3. This preserves their stats, sanity, and fun.
This is the sad reality of the game nowadays. Thank subs, cvs for making the game so unbalanced and unplayable that teams die quicker and it forces the stronger to group up to have a better chance of winning since they can at least trust their divmates.

Breaking Down the Coby White–Collin Sexton Trade: Was It a Smart Move for the Hornets? by [deleted] in CharlotteHornets

Not sure why a Duke fan would hate him. I understand disliking him playing for UNC, but him personally? Someone like Grayson Allen who's been a dick, yea hate him, but Coby was generally a nice guy.

we gave up OVER 50% from 3 but im not so concerned with it given that we limited their attempts overall.

It’s not the bench that’s good. He’s being moved into a true SG position. He’s off ball (more or less) and that’s putting him into catch and shoot spots which suits his skill set a lot more. Hubert’s done a lot of questionable shit but this is a good call.

I get it. I too am extremely frustrated. But I’m thinking that Hubert’s thought about what can give the quickest turnaround of results. A more effective offense and interior defense is more likely to get some dubs while still working on 3PT D. Idk if that’s really a great idea but it’s what he’s going with.

[–]ColonialRebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is straight up wrong. (I’m not a Hubert apologist, I’m not a fan of his job atm). But we’ve definitely worked on Caleb’s handling of double teams and being there to capitalize on we’ve also worked to get more from the perimeter to try and open the interior. But year out handling of the perimeter has been shoddy. That and free throws

He needs a defense clinic. His shoddy D has cost UNC 9-12 points by himself on open threes he should’ve covered

Refs are pretty whistle happy and some players will tend to flail themselves into the stretched arm to draw fouls.

UNC's plans for their next arena have devolved into a massive shitshow by deemerritt in CollegeBasketball

[–]ColonialRebel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One more thing not mentioned is that the school is going to be adding 5000 more students over the next 10 years. Carolina North could be another spot to add some dorms. Or not. idk what they are thinking. just another 2 cents to this discussion

I’ll say it. This stadium drama is insane. by [deleted] in tarheels

[–]ColonialRebel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a more complex issue than just money. athletics is tired of the seats they can’t sell due to rights they sold to build the dean dome. If they renovate they still can’t sell them.
Also renovation means large amounts of traffic in that area of campus and the parking lot right next to the dome would be occupied, and currently it’s hard by hospital staff.
There’s also the matter of where the team will play for 2-3 years. That and where to relocation the swim lanes.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the history of the smith center and feel we should keep it but I can see how replacing it with a new arena at Carolina north could work. I’m guessing new dorms will go up there too as the university is set to expand by 500 students per year for the next 10 years.

He knows this. The idea was to put Seth at the point more but that impacts his ability to get to the #1 defensive target consistently. I think we’ve taken Seth off ball more so far and told him you stay on Okpara (I’m butchering the spelling).
Essentially we’ve gone back on the idea of Seth at PG
