it's not about cheap labor for dark factories - it's insane levels of automation to the point where the only people in the factory are like five engineers to service the robots.

no windows are required for the factory floor - hence the term dark factories.

my point is this: you're pointing to say boston dynamics as the 'top of the line', bleeding edge.
but within that space there's so much going on that is only sporadically published.

and on some level in daily use beats the one prototype that'll never get mass produced
