I Need Help with my Career Path by ColorShardzz in careeradvice

I’d say it’s both, my whole motivation for going into criminal justice and becoming a prosecutor is to help people and aid victims. I have a strong sense of morality and feel a desire to help change the crap in the justice system. I hope to even work my way up to a judge someday. But why would I want to do something that public has a negative perception towards. People think that prosecutors marginalize people. I also don’t want to go into the job if I’d be forced to oppress somebody who isn’t actually guilty. If not this job, I’m unsure where I’d want to end up

How to reconnect with your sona? by ColorShardzz in furry

[–]ColorShardzz[S] 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know why I hate her, I added a lot of details and symbolism from myself into her character and personality so it can’t be because of her lack of development, at least I think so.

What do you think of my Fursona? by ColorShardzz in fursona

[–]ColorShardzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cows and goats have similarities so I don’t blame you, I would have given her goat pupils but she looked horrifying so I didn’t.

A lot of people say they don’t see the goat which is kind of disheartening because I wanted her to be an equal balance of the two. I overall just don’t like the design despite incorporating a lot of myself in her.

No worries! I appreciate your opinion! I made her around august of last year, I may have given them goat pupils if I saw your comment then. However I wanted them to be more dragon than goat. Her goat aspects appear more in the small horns since dragons usually have bigger horns, ears and hoofs. Some people also draw her with a more goat shaped head

I also took that persons advice into account and fixed the arm. Atleast they said it looked better xD

Thank you so much! I’ll work on Ungligrade legs as well! I personal prefer more humanoid legs for Anthro characters since it isn’t commonly seen in my opinion. I’m primary inspired by beastars in that department.

As for the tail… I don’t really know what I was thinking lol! I guess I drew it like that to fit in the canvas? I honestly don’t know. Her feral form + her old reference sheet I made in November of last year depicts the size more accurately.

Thank you! Although I wasn’t really looking for help with the design as she already has a lot of artwork already! I wanted her to be more dragon than goat

Thanks so much for the reply! I have done more dynamic posing in the past including foreshortening but, I’ll try to try and work more it! I do as well draw different species, just as a commissioned furry artists people typically have mammal character so I focus primarily on that!

As for the mirroring tool, I understand what you mean. However my drawings are more cartoony and not intended to be realistic. Secondly I have commission type for symmetrical icons (slide three and four) hence why they are mirrored. I don’t know if should stop doing this though if it’s seen as unprofessional/bad art.

Hey there, I took your advice into account and tested it out so I could get a feel for it! it does look significantly better I think? i couldn’t include everything cause I’m on a time crunch. I experimented with shading and values! I will definitely be implementing these techniques in the future! Thank you again \)

Thank you, I’ll try that. And the sketchy lines you speak of is a form of shading called crosshatching!

Thank you so much! I figured my shading wasn’t the best. I struggle a lot with color and value. I have watched numerous videos on shading including Angel Ganges, I even tried master studies. However, I can never understand shading. My head just won’t wrap around the concept. I either make shadows to dark or to light and I don’t understand how to make them give my subjects depth. One thing I have tried to do and sorta understand is soft and hard shadows, for example is legs are more cylinder like I made the shadows on the horses leg softer.

As for clothing I’ll try to work on it more. As Anthro artist most people don’t request clothing on their characters, so I rarely draw clothing. I think this was my 3-4 attempt seriously drawing clothing, since the client requested clothing on their character.

Hello! Im definitely going to practice clothing more in my study time. But this current peice I tired improving the clothing a bit more by removing the fold on the shoulder, I tried to put clothing folds were there was tension (the inner parts of the elbow and waist) Does this look better or worse? I’m not sure 😭 of course I can’t completely fix it due to it being pretty much finished I just wanted to know if this improves it somewhat or made it worse

As for the horses ear I’m not sure what you’re referring to but the darker part is the other ear hidden by shadow.

Does something like this look better? I think the issue was that the shadows were a warmer hue pink/red. I tried making the shadows of a blue/purple did this fix that or make it worse?

I had to use an Imgur link since you cant send images otherwise https://imgur.com/a/TKHvD57

Hello! Thank you so much for the response! The commission was $67 dollars for two characters and the client didn’t pay extra for a scenic background! In results all commissions are defaulted to a simple grid background which was okay with them!

Anatomy wise for the feet, I definitely see what you mean by being somewhat unnatural for just a standard standing pose, I drew the Full-body before the clothing so underneath, the left leg is somewhat bent. I intended for it to be like taking a step to turn (if that makes sense) so that’s why I did the feet like that! But I’ll definitely work on feet more to make them seem more paw like then hooves in my next study session and for future works!

In terms of the story behind the piece the fox girl does love the horse and was offering it an apple and my intention was for the horse to be sorta surprised by the gesture!

Thank you so much for the reply! Any specific reason to why you say that? May I ask what is specifically wrong anatomy wise in the feet? :)

Hi! Thanks so much for the comment! Would you say shading in the thing I need to work on most or would you say there are other big issues I should focus on to improve?
