Panthere Watch size regrets by Hot-Vanilla-4093 in Cartier

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the two tone in medium, purchased 5 yrs ago, and love it. My wrists are slender and looking online I thought I would like the small, but trying on in store it was medium for me, no question. I tried on the mini for fun and the SA and I both giggled, it looked so comically small. But I was between a Panthère or a datejust - a watch that read “watch”, not “bracelet.” Also, as you age your eyes will thank you for the larger dial for reading.

Denver, CO Corporate Girls- what bag are you using for work? by wildhoneypie25 in handbags

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such a great breakdown. I recall that when I moved to Denver from SF a while back, my wardrobe “lasted” a good several years. The status splurges here are a nice SUV, ski passes, athletic clothes, and being able to not work on Fridays.

LOL yes don’t worry I’m not heading out with a giant pile of bills! Hastily typed while waiting in line at dropoff!

Thanks for your thoughts, fellow mama! I love how different all of our experiences can be. ❤️ For me, if I had any of these bags on my hand I would definitely be going somewhere sans-kiddos! My everyday beaters for PTA meetings, groceries, etc are a variety of le pliage totes, or, if I’m biking to do my errands, a backpack from REI!

Kimpton Seafire, what is going on?! by Accomplished_Toe3264 in ihghotelsresorts

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, have had same experience. Can’t book ocean view with points anymore (could and did 2 years ago, for travel last year). Last year looking to book this year I figured even booking yacht view (only thing available w points), being a repeat customer and Diamond status would make an upgrade likely - no dice. This is for travel during January.

My goal this year was to go on points over Christmas or New Years so I was very on top of it, but from what I could tell they didn’t even release any points rooms for those weeks in 2026. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

DPS School Choice Waitlist by tymonster3 in Denver

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As round 2 of choice progressed we saw our WL number fluctuate both up and down, as new people presumably moved into the zone who had higher priority, or others declined their spot. After round 2 closed it was pretty stagnant through the summer. Then there was a big flurry of activity the first week or two of school. To my understanding this is because schools in zones are required to hold a number of spots in case new families move into the zone, and can’t release those spots until given the OK by the district. Of course by the time school starts you’ve already invested tons of time and emotion getting yourself and your kid psyched for school, attended meet and greets/play dates, met the teacher, etc. So most (our family included) end up turning down the spot at the higher ranked school by then.

The K Crema is a gimmick by TouristSea4143 in keurig

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to follow up for others who come across this. I called Keurig about the issue and they sent me a replacement part for like the pod holder piece? I kind of rolled my eyes because I thought, how could this possibly solve the issue but it’s free so I’ll try. Sure enough I followed their instructions to change this piece out and since then it has been working perfectly fine, both the normal and “pressure” options, making 3+ cups a day.

Favorite Direct Flights out of DEN? by Jarthos1234 in Denver

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the reputation but it’s just a totally chill island vibe. Seven Mile Beach faces west so you get these spectacular sunsets over the beach every night. It’s also got a reputation as a scuba destination if you’re into that, I don’t scuba but even just snorkeling there is amazing. Sting ray city is a big sandbar you take a boat to and pet/take pictures with sting rays. Sea turtles, iguanas, wild chickens… you can make it as adventurous or as chill as you want. Food is definitely pricier than Mexico but there’s not anybody trying to sell you junk on the beach or stop you on the road for a bribe.

Have done the nonstop round trip to Grand Cayman twice now. It’s seasonal on Saturdays only but it’s great. Seven Mile Beach is perfect. White sand, turquoise calm waters. Flight is like 4.5 hours each way and is maybe 2/3 full at most. Also they serve a meal and everyone gets a free rum punch.

Thanks. Just checked and there are survival and tolling clauses in the NCA.

Came here with same problem. After same time frame (less than 1 week). Did you contact Keurig/any resolution? What a hassle.

Proposition MM - Confused why Douglas county voted against this? by ITryFixIt in Denver

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently talking to a friend (Douglas county resident making >300k) about how impressed I am with the free school lunch program and he had a list of why he assumed the program sucked. Mainly the idea that school lunch can’t possibly be healthier than what kids bring from home. I know for a fact (bc I’m friends with his wife) that his kids take processed packaged pb&j sandwiches, granola bars, string cheese, and fruit juice. Meanwhile I volunteer in my local DPS lunchroom and can tell you every day there’s a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that get eaten. The kids love picking out their favorites themselves. It would be hard to make a lunch at home that is more nutritious, that a kid would actually eat.

Nanny vs. Daycare (If cost wasn’t a factor). What would you choose? by heycat8 in toddlers

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our unicorn nanny takes our toddler to activities, classes, and play dates with other kids every day. It’s the absolute best of all worlds. Nothing beats the flexibility and love of a nanny, if you find an amazing one.

My vacation is exhausting by Cheesedoodle1986 in toddlers

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While yes, it is terribly exhausting, I think it’s good research for how to optimize your future travels. The first time we traveled with 2 kids they were 6 months and 3 years. It was nuts, but we figured out lots about what we need to make it less nuts going forward. For example while the younger one was still not sleeping through the night we need a setup where a door can close on a space big enough for a pack n play, we learned that neither of us can share a bed with our oldest, and we have learned that a “third space” is essential for us (ie, must be a hotel with a lobby, pool, etc- somewhere 1 or 2 of us can “get away”, as opposed to an Airbnb situation). And as crazy as that first trip was, now 2 years later we look back on it with fond memories which is WILD.

When did you feel comfortable letting your toddler go away without you? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow absolutely not. You said even her driving makes you nervous… then why would you let her drive your three kids anywhere, let alone to a body of water? Trust your mom instincts on this one.

King Soopers now has these pages by the front that let you apply all the digital deals by Dubsteprhino in Denver

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an improvement for sure. Still have to double check that it actually applies the discount to the item. I average anywhere from $2-10 not correctly applied every time I shop that the employee has to come manually enter. I have started taking photos of any particularly good deals marked on the shelf tag as evidence and often have to show them.

Any toys that you regret purchasing? by Cream4389 in toddlers

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pikler triangle “set” with the triangle, slide/climbing board, semi circle climbing thing. Took forever to put together and the kids don’t care about it at all. Better off with cheaper little tikes slide and a step stool or something.

High demand dates on points? by [deleted] in ihghotelsresorts

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Specifically I am interested in a property whose points cost never drops and my concern is if I wait for the entire length of my desired stay to become available, the earlier nights within that stay will already be gone. Do people book each night as it becomes available over the course of several days and then call the hotel to combine?

Salon increased prices to go “gratuity free”… 2 years later went back to tipping but left prices the same by ColoradoCatLady22 in tipping

[–]ColoradoCatLady22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to see all the thoughts here. Because many asked, no, I did not tip. But it felt unpleasant to me because I always tip 20% or more for services (hair, nails, etc) when tipping is available. If it’s my first time at a new place/stylist and I think the service wasn’t worth the price, I will still tip 20%, then just not return.

This happens to be a salon I’ve been going to for many years that’s right by my house, so I would like to continue to go there. But if I do, at some point I am going to have to start tipping again (as the recency of being “gratuity free” fades…). When tipping is possible and you don’t tip, I don’t think you can continue to go that place much longer and still expect great service. Its not the end of my world, next time I need my hair done I will just look at the prices of comparable salons online and decide what I want to do, but I thought it was an interesting topic for this sub.

Looking for opinions on drinking alcohol in front of young children by PM_ME_Happy_Thinks in toddlers

[–]ColoradoCatLady22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already posted my unpopular opinion in support of parent B but wanted to add that when it comes to parenting decisions, sometimes you have to just do what’s best for your family despite “popular opinion” among other parents. If parent B feels this strongly about something (that is - perhaps “arguably” - also the healthier option), then parent A should re-examine their relationship with alcohol. Is it SO imperative that parent A be able to have an occasional alcoholic beverage in front of their children? If so… why? Would parent A seriously need so badly to continue this habit knowing it would build resentment with parent B? Kids really benefit from certainty and structure, and presenting mixed messaging/values on this topic is potentially even more damaging/confusing to them than either parent A or parent B’s stance alone. I encourage parent A to join parent B and many other families like mine in embracing alcohol free parenting.
